I’ve been consistently subscribed and playing since 2006 and I did not get this survey. It’s completely cherry picking responses.
Cata will be completely dead 3 months in and was a complete and utter waste of dev resources and you know it.

Cata is gonna be fantastic tbh.
It’s called a sample size. This, coupled with other methods, yields the best general responses in a more reasonable time frame than blasting out a survey to everyone and then going through every players raw data.
Focusing on just veteran players would also skew the data returned so it probably went out to anyone regardless of account age. Been here since 09, I received one of the two and my BF who has been playing since Classic released received one as well.
No one can predict the future.
Ruby Sanctum is the Cata pre-patch event technically. They stated back in original WOTLK that it was part of the Cataclysm story line (hence the twilight dragon you fight).
True, for the most part… it was aimed to cater to those who completed HLK and were bored waiting for prepatch Cata to come out.
Cata will NOT be completely dead, as long as I’m there.
Funny how during its announcement at BlizzCon you could hear a pin drop.
You can watch the VoD on youtube… It was pretty loud. May want to get your ears checked.
Lots of clapping and cheering at 3:45 to 3:55 (when the announcement is made).
Not enough for a crowd that size.
Honestly at this point Blizzard could say they’ve read survey responses but you know it would be a total lie. They never read responses, they just did what they thought was best. It was always going to be Cata Classic next, because money.
This is true in Cata and MoP especially when the game becomes a collection / achievement game.
You absolutely have no proof that’s what they did, as far as we know either of us can be right. We’re both making assumptions.
Sure tell that to every polling method that’s been proven wrong
“Here’s people who constantly play our game. They’ll play regardless so their opinion doesn’t matter”
Cool company!
The anti-Cata crowd always coping…they say no one cheered, you point out that there were a lot of cheers, they move on to “well that part doesn’t count” or something
timestamp pls ?
Edit:
Oh my goodness I’m blind looool
Thanks Noxranna
Invincible literally gave you the timestamp in their post…
Like I said, “This is the most likely scenario as anyone who knows how polling is done these days knows.” What I described is best practice used by all companies that do polling as part of their market research. In what ways do you think Acitivision/blizzard deviated from those best practices and why do you think they did it?
What polling method that was accepted by the science has been proven wrong? Most polling of the type that is commonly used on the internet was addressed by the science before the internet and was well know to be bad polling practices that were highly unlikely to produce accurate results. I’m more than happy to discuss either of these questions.
So no proof ?
This must be some type of trolling, there’s no way you mean this unironically ?
Of course no proof. No one has any proof about almost every thing blizzard does. Blizzard releases almost no data about anything it does as a company. But there are best practices that are commonly used when polling by companies with net profits as large or larger than blizzard. In what ways do you think Acitivision/blizzard deviated from those best practices and why do you think they did it?
I think what I posted was an objective truth. You have a choice of explaining how you think I’m wrong or to just attempt to insult me. Your game at this moment is to avoid a rational dialog and just insult me. I’m happy to discuss this question: What polling method that was accepted by the science has been proven wrong?
