Self righteous how? Horde has been cartoonishly edgy and evil for years. But if you don’t see any appeal in playing alliance on your own, then I don’t think any of us can convince you.
But try a rogue. SI:7 have some fun quests. Maybe void elf?

The horde wants to chop/burn down Kalimdor and make it all look like Orgrimmar.
The Alliance is not the bad guys from Fern Gully.
Dwarf / Dark Iron Dwarf gets a racial that can remove bleeds and is therefore BiS in M+ or fights like Forgotten Expiriments in raid.
I…misunderstood this thread. I thought this was an attempt to purchase the alliance as your own personal faction.
I came in prepared to make a counter bid, but alas…i am quite disappointed.
The Alliance humans are different from us in that they know magic works and there’s an afterlife. When you look at human culture and history, that’s huge.
The night elves are the drow, but nicer. Kind of. Player attitudes (and Blizzard reacting to them) might have softened their edge, but at their core they’re still Grom Hellscream’s territorial “perfect warriors.” Male or female, druid or priest or mage, they can and will mess you up.
Gnomes are the “joke race” that can transform into the Joker in a heartbeat. Until the draenei showed up, they were responsible for all of the Alliance’s technological advances.
As for stories…until MoP (when Blizzard decided the Alliance was “Captain America on steroids”) the Blue Side had quests and dialog that subverted the “good guys” trope. There was a warlock quest to kill a member of the House of Nobles who was too nosy about the goings-on at The Slaughtered Lamb. A rogue trainer in Darnassus was obsessed with another to the point of stalking. In Telaar (Outland) there’s a draenei paladin who tells a captive blood knight that he can’t torture him because that would be wrong… but he can have Broken do it instead.
And the whole Defias questchain.
The Alliance is a mirror of us from a fantasy perspective.
I don’t know, man. I just like Stormwind and night elves.
The horde keep going back and forth between wanting peace and committing mass genocide. It’s like, pick a stance.
I’d say you just have to see the grey in both sides.
For Horde it’s easy to see how they admire complete freedom, with a total lack for control. Though this can be seen as admirable, it also has its downsides. This refusal to keep their fellows in check has given rise to certain tyrants like Garrosh who managed to radicalize a portion of the Horde to turn against their own. Same thing with Sylvanas. Basically, the Horde’s refusal to keep one another in check has often times caused much infighting and chaos within themselves. A world without order is chaos, but Horde would rather embrace chaos ultimately.
For Alliance it’s easy to see they admire adherence to principal and keeping order within their ranks. This adherence to discipline and order has allowed them to keep the peace amongst one another and that’s why you don’t see much infighting between the Alliance and the leaders are often on good terms. For many within the Alliance, this well-oiled machine that knows what it’s defined by is what’s allowed them to live peaceful lives. However, the downside of this is that adhering to strict principles for so long can cause you to be close-minded over time. If you refuse to see the change in the world around you and embrace it, you’ll be left behind.
Overall, both sides have their good and bad parts. Horde is good for its willingness to embrace anything regardless of its background, however the result of this can also cause much chaos within their ranks. Their lack of discipline has often resulted in the deaths of their own members, constant infighting, and short-term peace for its citizens.
The Alliance is good for keeping order within their ranks and ensuring the peace for their citizens by adhering to discipline and rules that have been established since its founding. The downside of this however is the Alliance’s skepticism around change has caused them to unfairly judge others and sow distrust in others perception about them in the world. This traditionalist mindset can cost them allies and leave their stratagem outdated etc.
I think to play both sides you have to find the fun in both sides, realize what makes them different, and embrace that change isn’t necessarily bad. They each have their advantages and disadvantages, and that’s the fun of it.
Indoor plumbing.
Two words: indoor plumbing.
You don’t get painted as genocidal maniacs unable to make their own choices 90% of the time. Also your heroes suck but they’re mostly alive.
They get a bee mount specific to alliance.
I rate each faction by q times
Barely care about anything else
Just want to not be sitting around bored in my paid entertainment
10g it’s yours.
Don’t.
As somebody who recently faction changed 5 characters…
Alliance can’t pvp, on any server.
Alliance barely raids outside of “we have been raiding together for 15 years, good luck getting into an actual raid with us lel”.
Alliance trends towards being more toxic and prone to try and start politics in trade.
Over about 13 years, I have seen nothing but toxic nonsense from the Alliance.
But I am sure somebody will say the same thing about the Horde.
i was a hardcore NE player in Warcraft 3.
def have to stick to my faction forever!
and hate orcs and all that
You get to quest in Duskwood, the objectively best questing zone.
This is really funny to me. I’m not slamming you, btw.
When I started playing years and years ago, my friends told me, “Friends don’t let friends play Alliance.”
The reasoning then was that all the quests were stupid-simple and Blizzard catered to those players and Horde had it so much harder so a good player would choose Horde.
Those differences still exist in the starting area, or at least some of them.
These days I’ve toons on both sides and enjoy them both. There are good players on both sides and jerks on both sides.
Oh I hate the Alliance. I only like the Void Elves. If they ever allow us to pick a faction with a pool of all the races I am definitely returning back to the Horde.
True. But when it comes to my elven brethren I can only hope they haven’t fallen to such a level.
