I’ve always found it difficult to stick with or like an Alliance race to play. They always felt a bit too self-righteous or unengaging. I do however enjoy a good story and lore though so part of that means I’d had to play through Alliance campaigns to get the bigger picture.
So my request here is if you enjoy the Alliance or your Alliance race, then could you explain what about it you enjoy? What stories and aspects in the Alliance that makes you want to immerse yourself in it.
Can’t put my finger on why exactly at present, but I find this funny coming from a Blood Elf.
As for your question, posh werewolves are just fire. Gilneas, too.
To say nothing of the hilarity that is the undead running into something they can’t just raise into their own ranks and beat through attrition. Feels good.
It’s not Horde. We’re not trying to be “the cool kids”. Blizzard employees probably do not play this faction (and if they do, they certainly don’t brag about it). Our faction story plays out like the public friendly cater-to-the-teens message at the end of a G.I. Joe cartoon: “Wait! Don’t do that!” “Oh, Well Now I Know!” “And Knowing Is Half The Battle!”
So there you are. If being catered to is important to you? Don’t play Alliance. You won’t enjoy it. More than that, we don’t want you. Go away!
Not really much in Alliance, but I think the best race would be Dark Iron dwarves. Cool looking armor. Mole machine. Not sure how useful the indoor speed bonus is.
Worst part about the Alliance is the players. Probably best to go on an smaller RP server because there’s less nonsense there.
Main issue with Worgen is it is a werewolf fantasy yet doesn’t play towards actually using your claws, teeth and otherwise.
A werewolf casting spells just seems odd to me.
Also classifying Bloodelves as self-righteous isn’t very accurate. I think the terms you’re looking for is arrogant, somewhat snobs, condescending, and even bordering on jingoistic, but definitely not self-righteous
they were holocausted by the Lift King. idk that there were six million belves before the scourging, but i doubt there are that many now. I think they’ve earned the jingoism!
I can’t sell you the faction, but I can sell you the races, just focus on those since factions don’t matter much anyways.
I literally play as Horde sometimes, randomly, on my Worgen Monk doing rated battlegrounds, because there’s Alliance and Horde on both teams.
I used to main only Horde, but I’ve played both factions since Cataclysm.
Think of it this way- do you want to miss out on 50% of the story of a product you pay for?
I enjoyed doing loremaster, and seeing the stories from both sides. Silverpine Forest and both the Forsaken and Worgen stories interwoven in that zone are amazing, and it honestly makes you want to play both races.
There’s a lot of good stuff on both sides, and I roll my eyes whenever people say “mud huts” and stuff like that, because that’s just ignoring the content that is there, and I feel like it’s a cop-out or excuse not to play the other side.
All players in the game are played by humans IRL, how different do you really think it’s gonna be?
