Bro, I was just watching his stream two nights ago and he was talking about ninja looting the ashes and pocketing loot without rolls.
Ok, you are either troll me or just really not understanding what I said. I said that regardless of having one raid tier or 500 people will still pay to cheese it. It has been that way for years, the only difference now is Blizzard selling tokens brought it out of the shadows.
Yep the players that choose to play with him are equally to blame.
If you’re dumb enough to group with a notorious loot goblin for 15 minutes of fame then don’t whinge when he ninja’s your loot.
His group his rules.
Cause it’s funny and for content. More people have entertainment overall than the lone dude riding around on 15 yr old pixels in a ghost puppet remaster of the original game.
Except it’s toxic and it spreads. He’s got tens of thousands of viewers and they all get off from there and play in WoW too.
I don’t find it funny.
I do though. So we are at a net zero at least right now.
True and real, theres no denying that some players will copy his behaviour.
Lucky for us we can choose not to group with them. I have yet to have my loot ninja’d since the introduction of personal loot.
I had the three drake Obsidian Sanctum mount ninja’d in Wrath after I won the roll. And Invincible was ninja’d but no one had rolled yet.
I’ve also been roll stacked against when pugging a few times.
And guild “justifying” passing out loot more times than can be counted.
I think thats why they introduced personal loot…the goblins cant be trusted.
because, people keep getting denied ques, and because their guild doesn’t do the content that they like?
I play because I enjoy the game, and collecting is my thing. I really don’t care about the gear since I spend most of my time in the open world. I buy the runs solely to see the content, see just how hard it is at higher levels, and maybe grab some gear along the way. Ultimately, the 304 Purples/Oranges being worn now will be replaced with 310 blues in Dragonflight.
So that begs the question, why grind for gear when next expac it simply gets replaced? The answer: because people do what they enjoy and are paying/earning their own sub so the opinions of others matters to a factor of zero.
Ok so you took my point made it your own and then tried to argue against me for why grinding for gear was dumb.
Reread what I posted, I already know gear means nothing. I was talking about metacompletion that is represented by achievements, mounts, titles and mog. In which case why invest your time into the game when said things can be quantified indirectly with irl cash.
Well, Most instance mounts, pets, and gear cannot be bought with cash. Trust me. If Invincible were available in the cash shop, I would buy it. Also, getting Mythic gear is more about being powerful in the open world.
Ultimately, using gold, that was earned in game without buying a token, means I am playing the game to help myself be carried through more game content when I don’t belong to a guild anymore. Most guilds have died over the years, and saying people are less of a player because high level skilled players help them in exchange for gold is just kinda petty. Carries have existed in PvP and PvE since the advent of WoW.
Personally, no one pays for my game time except me, likely the story of every other player, and I choose not to insert my opinion and judgement into someone else’s enjoyment of the game how they see fit.
It’s called a strawman. You say what someone said and then you argue with what you say they said instead of what their actual argument is.
“This person is a coward.”
“So you say he’s really a chicken? He’s clearly not a chicken. He’s on the internet.”
Almost every strawman I have seen entails creating a bit out of reach absurdism of the point that they are in opposition. And then do as you said. He was literally arguing and siding with the same point that I made. And then suddenly turning heel.
Because Blizzard gets a nice paycheck when they sell a token for gold and it’s used for runs.
It’s also why it isn’t legal when you buy gold through third party systems or pay the boosters actual cash:
Blizzard doesn’t get their cut.
“Blizzard doesn’t get their cut.”
This person gets it.
Because they profit from it.
Basically if you do this via real money or gold you bought via third party. It’s a ban.
But if you use their gold buying avenue it’s AOK in their books.
Hypocrites.
Blizzard set a precedent long before tokens were a thing that allowed players to sell boosting services via in-game currency. Boosting has been around since vanilla and boosting is huge in all forms of Classic even though they don’t have tokens either. It isn’t about them “not getting their cut”, it’s about them having set a precedent in the past already.
