Thank you for bricking my character

I mean you coulda saved yourself the hassle if you stopped to think. “why is this gear several hundred Ilvls ahead of where I’m currently at?”

A fool and his money are easily parted.

Presumably you had some appropriate gear before you wasted all your money on greens. Do some item restores through Blizzard. They’re pretty painless.

TLDR:

I tried to abuse what was clearly a bug, and now I have to get quest gear and/or crafted gear to keep leveling.

I know troll but whatever, ill bite

Why buy gear, just do world quest and duggs. Never need to spend cash on gear

You also know there other quests then kill stuff. Do the collecting X item quests for gold/gear

You knew full well that that gear was way to strong for a level 60. You looked at the stats before you bought it. You knew the item level was many levels above a level 60 epic item .You also knew ,like everyone else they would fix it. This is a non issue. Go back to the AH and buy a set of the crafted level 60 and 61 gear.

Not even remotely “bricked”.

You can level in WoW naked, people were getting boosts in Cobalt Assembly before it was nerfed months ago.

But still, it’s impossible to ‘brick’ a WoW character, unless you cannot play it.

Unless they’re stuck in a permanent disconnect loop, and need GM help or something to get out of it. (I’ve had that happen before, lol.)

You can still play that character, just get questing gear lol. I got 60-70 in like two days just doing random things, idk how it’s an issue for some folks to the point they’d need to spend gold and whatnot. Levelling is free, and passive.

PvP, Pet battles, questing, gathering, everything gives exp.

Out of curiosity, what wrong do you think Blizzard did in this case? Let’s give the OP the benefit of the doubt and assume that it really never did occur to him that the gear he was purchasing was ridiculously high ilvl for his character level. Regardless of that point, he still entered into a mutually agreed upon trade for those greens on the AH. That money belongs to the player he bought the greens from now. It would be wrong of Blizzard to take that money back. (Frankly if he bankrupted himself on those greens then it was an astronomically stupid trade even if the bug wasn’t fixed.)

If you think Blizzard should offer him a free set of gear (or perhaps the same set of gear he had before he bought all his greens) to unbrick his character, then I could be more sympathetic to that. He could submit an item restore ticket without any red tape https://us.battle.net/support/en/restoration.

While normally that service is only offered once every 7 days, I bet that the OP can escalate it to a GM instead of an automated thing and restore his entire armor set given that this is an exceptional case. In any event, if the OP decided to go to the forums with his complaint before a GM ticket then he is truly foolish indeed. Blizzard can’t help him if he never asks.

Or he had no gold left as he bought the gear that he no longer can use.

His best bet is to make an Evoker as they’ll have around 500 gold after their intro and have stater gear on.

I like u, u make me laugh, but why u got such an old lady name?

Not sure how anyone could have misconstrued the gear being sold on the auction house which made running heroics irrelevant was meant to be available for use by a level 60. Anyone that paid gold for the gear new it was going to be for a limited time, go have your fun before it’s gone thing.

Even I had jumped on that fun train for my hunter, and boy was it glorious running level 60 dungeons and plowing through things.

Short-lived, but well worth the fun.

The fix was made to deal with exploits. Sucks, but if you had the gold for that you have the gold for a new set of level-appropriate BOE gear.

it happened to my toon too, and it sucks…however U dont really need to buy gear. option two for me was wait at world bosses until people kill them for gear, im guessing he wants a less time consuming option though

Looks like op will have to wait til 70 to have those upgrades now.

Amen OP. I have a level 67 mage that was ilvl 24. What Blizz did was retrieve a couple of my quest items but I still have missing gear slots.

This company has a terrible reputation so I guess shame on us for falling for their “sale” which clearly was a bait and switch. Lure us suckers back in, then make all the gear we bought to replace ancient 8.2 gear be unequipable. If I hadn’t bought my game and game time from Best Buy, I would chargeback Blizzard on my Visa. But Best Buy did nothing wrong so I will take the insult and complain about this issue a few more days then uninstall even though there are 50 days until my subscription expires.

A 67 mage… with no gear… incredible that Blizzard has no make-whole remediation processes. That is project management 101 in a consumer facing business.

Yes… the gear was meant for max level players to catch up when they got to level 70

A level 60 character getting a set of 376 gear is not intended therefore it is a bug, there is a huge item level gap between 226ish ilvl where its actually intended and 376 where its not.

Just because you buy item level 376 gear at level 60 and use them doesn’t mean its not a bug and it is intended.

So go into item restoration and restore the items you have sold.

Which you will make back eventually via questing/leveling…

Making gold is so easy right now.

Except were not in WoD and btw, those crafted gear if I remember at the time you can only have like 3 equipped during leveling, not a full set where if you look at a mob say an an elite mob, they die in seconds.

As I said, your not in WoD anymore.

Buying a full set of gear meant for max level catch up use is unintended in Dragonflight.

Why should they communicate every single time when a bug crops up and folks are exploiting it?

Also remember that item restoration exists if you happen to sell all your gear when using this bug.

Someone here give a list of cheap items available on his server and it would leave him with 1k gold and I did say to the OP that gold is easy to make right now.

Vendor all of your gear and send me the gold. Since you are leaving and all.
