Thank you for bricking my character

Congratulations on designing products that people can’t intentionally exploit, I guess. Strange world we live in where people can think that 370+ gear on level 60 characters wouldn’t get hotfixed in short order.

But…well…you might get lucky and find out that some of your old gear was saved in the item restore system. I have no idea what qualifies for that, but it’s probably not quest greens or w/e a level 60 alt would have.

Yes, because anyone who’s not brand new to the expansion would’ve immediately known that there’s no way in hell that was meant to be level 60 gear. They went and bought it specifically to wreck BGs or twink or whatever and are now mad that Blizzard actually fixed something this time.

I’m not saying there are zero people who recently resubbed or just didn’t think about it when buying gear, but given the price of these things and the fact that it’s a bunch of level 60s saying it, yeah, I don’t buy it. They know. But ofc they won’t say “I was using this to 1 shot noobs in pvp and now I can’t wtf”

it doesn’t matter how badly you got effed over, the shills will always victim blame <3

I don’t think anyone is blaming the victim. Everyone blames Blizzard design, but understands once the bug has been put in and people begin to exploit it, you don’t double down and unrestrict more item levels, you patch the bug. And if someone was able to exploit the rules for a time, the window has closed.

Restoring to remove the ill-gained benefits is a process by itself; it’s not trivial, which is why it’s not normal.

I literally have no idea what is even going on here.

everyone freaking out over 379 il, it should be for level 60s, in fact, I thought that the FR drops should have been for level 60s at 385, let people level in happiness, and be able to then upgrade to 395 at level 70, since the il is a joke anyway. but ya’ll keep screaming because someone had some trash gear. come on ppl.

Do some dragon riding world quests. They give a lot of gold

Oh dear, player really shouldn’t blame people who actually bought for upgrades. Bug or not, it sounds like it was a mistake on Blizzard’s part.

I mean I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t know if I was even exploiting by buying 379 ilvls if I didn’t know the game better. Thank goodness for my prior experience with this game because otherwise, I probably would be similar in OP’s position.

But I didn’t even know this “bug” or a mistake was a thing. Because in my view, if the gear is for level 70, there should probably be a level 70 requirement in the first place.

Even if it was doable and not against the rules, this is Blizzard we’re talking about.

Fun detected fun deleted Blizzard.

You had to know this was coming and this obviously wasn’t what they intended.

The way Blizzard handled this is very bad.

Blizzard should have announced this fix coming and sent every active, within 60-69, a basic green gear set with rings/trinkets/ect for leveling within the dragon isles afterward.

Just abruptly fixing it without saying anything and leaving players with nothing now is messed up.

As not everyone knew this wasn’t intended. They just bought the strongest gear at their level range.

Do an item restore and you can buy them back from the vendor.

yes buy those Items he listed and hit the road! also what professions are you? if you have a gathering prof get to it. mining nodes /herbs are good xp like 2500xp+ rested.

Gold falls from the sky, buy the gear and you’ll be able to make the gold back passively while leveling.

Maybe you shouldn’t have equipped endgame level gear. The catch up systems in WoW have never allowed players to equip end game gear before level cap.

Honestly, this is the correct response. Even if you put in a ticket, it could be who knows how long to get a response, and then the response probably won’t be “we’re so sorry, let us revert this / give you an entire set of replacement gear”… and in that time (heck, in the time this thread has been up) you could have thrown your BoAs back on and carefully quested your way back to a set of gear. You’re even a mage, which makes this easier.

I agree that the situation sucks, but I can also guarantee that you’ll spend a ton more time trying to appeal to Blizzard than you will recovering and moving forward. Best case, maybe you’ll get the gold back a month from now when they respond to the ticket.

its not endgame level gear, is atleast 50 ilvl below.

I think Legion legendaries were the only thing that came close. I vaguely remember the ilvl on those being pretty ridiculous for low level characters. But that was only one slot.

Please. It’s literally gear you earn from doing end-game content. That it’s not as good as raid gear is irrelevant.

You leveled to 70 meaning you have access to world quests on alts and some of those give gear. Buy any slots not currently offered and prioritize world quests

Learn tailoring and make the basic items. Take JCing and make the basic rings and neck. Can also ask in trade for any kind person to help out with any of the above. Act humble and not like you are here

No, run the story quests while waiting for a dungeon Q. There is no need to worry about “leveling gear” because at max, you’ll be directed to a hole in the ground and end up with 400+ gear.

If he just returned then how would he know that?

Blizzard is the one that messed up here. So, Blizzard should be the one to make it right.

Even sending just green leveling gear to players would do a lot to fix this.
