That’s because Blizzard’s bot detection system is the players. Tickets are backlogged for weeks or months before the few overworked, underpaid CS staff even look at them. Then they go on to the “investigation” step.
It’s ridiculous. It’s redundant, inefficient and it simply doesn’t work.
You’re right about Blizzard’s refusal to ban gold buyers. That would go a long way for sure.
I can’t wait for TBC wow tokens so I can buy gear and gold with my stimulus and welfare check. Hope release is after April so I can swipe my daddy’s plastic.
Blizzard adding a way to buy tokens with money and sell in AH / buying your game time with gold is a design choice of them and having them add just make the lives of people selling gold even harder.
It is so cringe when people like this guy try to paint that getting gold is hard and acts like a try-harder. You’re not a try-harder, you’re a condescending prick.
I’m not wrong. Getting huffy because someone calls out for the REAL reason retail minded players want tokens doesn’t change any of it. If you think retail isn’t lousy with RMT and bots you’re stone cold blind.
I’d prefer if Blizzard just cared and banned bots.
I wish Blizzard would care about gold buying, botting AND GDKP because they are all essential parts of the same cycle. As it is, IDC what anyone says…WoW (classic and retail) is pay to play. $350.00 for retail clears. Countless $ for classic items. Just think how much these organizers are making…and commanding. You pay to play WoW at the max level. Period.
i kind of agree what i think they will do is possibly put a limit on how much gold you can carry over to TBC with you also just speculation but wow tokens will help this alot.
It would be SO much easier to just add tokens, for everyone, and the greatest part about it is that I as a player get to support Blizzard Entertainment studios for my favorite game, I get in game gold, and they dont have to fix the impossible endless glass of botting and can continue best effort as they do now! They have a track record for clearly banning bots over the last year that speaks to that. Give the gold sellers less customers!
Have you done a calling at max level? You get like 2k a day from it. If you do them every day on 2-3 toons do you know how much money that is? For doing 3 WQ. There’s one for getting a coin and one for bastion where you can either complete it or get 80% completion from killing a 4 in 1 rare. There’s times both quests are up at once. Gold is literally thrown at you in retail if you do stuff at max level.
You sure do talk a lot about things you have no idea about then. Some of us play both. On multiple servers. We don’t watch propaganda machines to get our info about a game.
Watching hundreds and hundreds of retail bots on Youtube isn’t “propaganda”. It is what it is. If you want to deny that there is a bot problem in Retail, go ahead. People who play it and even people who don’t know better.
The token is a money grab. It solves nothing. That is just a fact.
It gives people who are going to buy gold anyway a legitimate way to do so without risking being banned.
It’s basically like saying, “Oh, you’re breaking the rules? Well, let’s solve that problem by making cheating within the rule set.”
You know when it makes sense to do that? For example, when you are playing basketball with 4 year old children who cannot actually play within the rule set.
The only people whining about the token in retail are doing so because they wanna make gold with gathering. Since actual vanilla you make more gold more quickly with crafting. Do you know what bits do for crafters? Let you take 20g in herbs and turn into 2k codexes and other things.with inscription. People are too lazy to craft but not too lazy to complain on the forums about how the bots (and the multiboxers they think are bots) took their jerbs. You don’t have to buy gold or spend hours farming to get gold in retail. You just have to put in a tiny bit of effort.
Tokens were never about helping us or the in game economy out. It was just a way for Blizz to get in on the gold buying money. Why risk the ban when you can just get the gold safely from Blizz?
