TBC Dual Spec

does literally NO ONE REALISE you use to only be able respec with dual spec in a city anyway?? This bs about doing it on the fly in a raid or some dumb stuff like that is idiotic.

Huh? The dual spec option introduced in Wrath allowed respecing anywhere as long as you were out of combat. Not sure what you are talking about.

End of the thread. Everyone come back in wrath and whine about not having 3 specs because your guild requires you to have 2 pve specs.

Dual spec would be great for the game. Everybody wants it. PvP’ers need to so they can do PvE.

PvE’ers want it so they can do PvP and arenas. Its a win-win situation.

I’m with ya dude, dual spec would have made my life a whole lot better, having to tank in a half assed dps hybrid role just so i can do world content and tank when called on didnt give me “choice” it was just tedious for no benefit or fulfillment, all i wanted was to help my friends get through content and do what i needed to do, switching from tank to pvp role sucked too and when making a druid it made me play the lesser of the role just to avoid having to pay gold constantly

the biggest upside of microtransactions coming in is the purists self selecting themselves out of this ecosystem

Was in a heroic blood furnace with a resto who specd kinda prot but also didn’t have the best gear; he got nearly deleted on every pull… I was really surprised by how hard those mobs hit.

The bare minimum I would be appeased with is allowing a secondary spec for instanced pvp only. This would contain whatever unforseen consequences people are scared of (I don’t really think it would matter much but I digress) and allow players to pve and pvp without spending stupid amounts of gold constantly.

Just add dual spec, make it where you can only change in a major city. Hell make it $100 account wide and I’ll pay blizz

I fully support dual specs :white_check_mark:
It would be a great improvement to the game.

That is exactly the point of this thread. Asking for the Wrath version in BC. Because “some changes”. You’re not clever.

And if your raid leader is going to require you to have 2 pve specs to raid when you want to pvp, don’t play with them. Simple. I don’t play with toxic people who try to tell me how to enjoy my free time. You don’t have to either.

And you haven’t been paying attention. If you had you’d know that the meta slaves will do literally anything for a pve advantage then complain relentlessly to blizzard about it. As classic has proven, even mediocre guilds will require world buffs. Every guild and their dog will do the same regarding 2 raiding specs. You could have one aoe focused spec for trash and one pumper spec for bosses for example. This will make the raids easier. What’s the point of having prenerf bosses if they’re trivialized by 2 raid specs?

Then we’ll be back to square one. Incessant complaining about needing a third spec for pvp or gold farming etc. I don’t raid so I don’t really care. However if dual spec removes one of the precious few true gold sinks in the game, it’ll lead to more inflation. I’d imagine the current system has already drained millions of gold across the board.

I’ll keep my answer short. No.

Then for that segment of the population nothing changes. I don’t see a problem. Those players choose to do that, more power to them.

If the option of having a few players quickly swap specs makes a boss trivial, then it probably wasn’t that difficult to begin with.

Not to mention spec swapping is already in game. So those “META slaves” as you called them will be porting out to swap specs and then heading back anyways if it makes that big of a difference. Nothing will have changed.

Dual Spec cost 1k gold. That’s more gold spent than most of the people I know spent on swaps for all of Classic. So it could be an even bigger gold sink than the current system.

Dual spec allows more people like myself to enjoy the game longer, and keeps me participating in parts of the game I would otherwise not bother with, which is a loss for the community as a whole.

Won’t bother with the rest of your post but this is lol worthy. Blizzard will have the true numbers of course so they can act accordingly. Anyways there are many people who respec multiple times a week for years. A once off 1 k gold payment is trivial. A one off payment isn’t a gold sink either. It’s a static cost. Like training skills or riding.

No…go lvl 70 twink in retail if that’s what you want. Asking for changes like this is why we now get $70 Deluxe Edition, $35 Cloning fee, and $40 Character boost…you give an inch and Blizzard bends you over…or something along those lines.

I wouldnt mind dual spec it would allow for even more options in game… I’m shadow and my dungeon group is looking for a healer for a while. Hmmm, give me a sec guys, I’ll switch over and heal.

And in most cases pvp specs are way different then pve specs. I myself use to spec 4 or 5 times a week in classic while on my mage. Because you can’t pvp in pve spec and you can’t farm in pvp spec. That was not fun.

Because I’m right. For all your fear mongering about how it will ruin the game, it is all just hyperbole.

Just like there are many people who never respec, or do so ony once or twice. But I’d imagine that a good amount of those people who spent less than 100 gold on respect would jump at the option of a 1k gold dual spec.

I respected 3x on my Pally, and once (for free I might add) on this Warrior. Would have 100% purchased dual spec for 1k gold on both if it was an option though.

So for players like myself, Dual spec would offer a larger overall gold sink. Easy to see how that would result in more gold removed from circulation.

Keep telling yourself that. See you in Wrath for dual spec! :kissing_heart:

Na. I’m super casual for TBC, doubt I’ll bother raiding beyond Kara. Won’t be playing Wrath.

But still doesn’t change that Dual spec will have more positive than negative effects on the game overall.
