Your problem is that you where using dailies a means of income in tbc. I admittedly made that same mistake back in the day. That said, I’ve been researching tbc in anticipation, and yeah, dailies are basically the absolute worst way to make gold for that expansion. Gathering is quite profitable, as is mote/primal farming, and depending on your chosen classes /professions there are other options available to you as well that will all generate significantly more income (easily 3-6x more) than fretting about doing dailies.
Consider dailies more for the accompanying rep they might offer, as a consolation prize for the time you waste not farming more valuable things.
I agree with the first part, strongly disagree with the second.
Not even remotely true sorry
I find it funny that people are worried about gold when most the classic player base running around in Naxx gear and blowing through t4 with it seems like a much more impactful issue.
I made 4k just farming motes of fire
I never thought I’d say this but someone around here mentioned Asmongold’s thoughts and I looked into them and…
I agree with him. For the most part.
His proposal was copying characters into new servers but gold and BoEs (and I’d say mats and non soulbound consumables) are purged. You keep your character, achievements, professions and any titles, mounts, or gear you earned in raiding but the economy gets a hard reset.
It honestly seems like the best option, otherwise everyone will have flying the moment they hit 70 and certain players will have a complete and total monopoly.

Tbc classic is going to be hot garbage, regardless of how they choose to start it in a few short weeks it will devolve into 200 people fighting over 30 or less air elementals jumping at 280% speed from mob to mob as they spawn.
Do i know how to level tailoring/alchemy on multiple characters and sell spell cloth while proccing free primal mights? Yes…

It breaks my heart a bit.
I would love to see TBC again but I have 0 doubts that within a month we as a playerbase will “blip beeb MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY MODE ENGAGED” the heck out of it and make it a generally miserable experience.
The good news is I’m not sure we can break Burning Crusade as much as we have Classic.

Oh you can break it even worse, trust me. Just as many people placed on a landmass that is 1/40th the size of Azeroth flying around at 280% speed looking for fire and air elementals that have like two spawn points that are all highly contested in high traffic areas.
It’s not the game, it’s the people.

If Blizzard doesn’t let me bring an existing character with full gear and professions to TBC then it will technically and factually be a worse experience than the private servers because:
- Private server spell batching is better than what classic gives us.
- Private servers are more stable in large gatherings than blizzard servers and have far less lag.
- Private servers do not have the leeway mechanics
The only downfall of TBC private servers is the massive faction imbalance that exists because everyone want to play horde so they can clear raids 2% faster.
The imbalances are so bad that it’s 99% horde, I’m not even kidding.
For that reason alone classic character migration is 100% needed to make TBC good.
And since Blizzard is extra stubborn in regard to the the dumb details like batching and leeway, I’d rather play private than Fresh Blizzard TBC.
I dont think the new races came out during the prepatch in tbc.
Pre-dailies was what I was mentioning. Yes gathering was profitable but most of my gathering was done to fund my professions (blacksmithing then JC) with very little left over to sell. I went into TBC with comparatively very little gold (about 1200ish) so not having a cushion made life more of a struggle.
Holy moley 4k??? Lemme load up my guns.
4k was nothing, it’s not even enough to get epic flight training.
Not needed if they do a complete reset and require all to start at lvl 1. But any announcement would be great.
4k is artisan riding with all discounts, stop over exaggerating. It’s at most 5k, easily farmable
You have to have actual brain damage to not have seen this coming a mile away with classic. but seeing as you play a vulpera it doesn’t come as a surprise!
I’ve played multiple private servers for multiple expansions and none of that holds true. Even the best private servers had a crash once per day (most crashed every few hours). Latency was always above 100, usually in the 250 range. I don’t remember much about spell batching, but the latency and server lag was worse.
I’m curious what huge appeal do people see in playing horde. Or why do they worry that most people will switch to horde? I know that’s kind of been the case but I don’t really get why. Obviously, it’s fine if that’s just your preference lol.
I know that horde have a small stats advantage or something that makes them mathematically a bit better but I (and I imagine a lot of people) really don’t care about that. I’ve always preferred and played Alliance (with some horde alts here and there) and that’s not something that will change because horde is more favored or will be a bit more favored in TBC.
Do so many people really go after every small advantage they can get to the extent their whole faction is based on that? Hardcore players sure. But everyone else too?
While I love and can’t wait for TBC, we still have naxx left of classic, give it some time.
I already have 30k, why should my hard work be punished?
Because exploiting terrain in instances isn’t hard work.
