TBC Classic, prepatch leveling

Remember too that 1-60 leveling in TBC was pretty substantially cut down.

If I remember right it was something large too, like 20% of the overall XP requirement taken away.

My ret back in the day made it to outland in the first 5-6 days post launch.

I remember levelling a shaman when original TBC launched. Obviously wasnā€™t as efficient as i am today but i do remember it didnā€™t take long to do at all. I also levelled mining and JC on the way. Iā€™d like to say it took maybe 9 days /played.

I wonā€™t play tbc unless itā€™s completely fresh tbh. Hardly seems fair to anyone who didnā€™t roll mage in this horribly mismanaged mess to allow them to bring their tens of thousands of gold.

Because someone elses gold is somehow hindering you? You do have the ability to make your own mage and also make ā€œ10ā€™s of thousands of goldā€. Or dont. Either way it has no effect on you.

Just to add this on, I do not have a mage and i have maybe 900 gold spread across my main and alts. There are people in my guild with 20k+ gold because they have multiple mages. It doesnā€™t effect me at all, or anyone else in the guild.

I too donā€™t use brain cells sometimes!

Tens of thousands of gold day 1 into BC will mean a completely obliterated economy. The economy on classic is already terrible as it is. They can offer us a fresh instance of the game or not. I am fine with not playing it. If I want to play BC there is plenty alternative servers that never had a busted version of classic first

It actually wonā€™t effect the economy that much. The majority of players will not have a ton of gold to bring over. There will be a select few with ā€œ10ā€™s of thousandsā€ as you put it, but they wonā€™t be able to negatively effect the economy on a large scale.

There are millionaires all over the planet, but i can still go buy a loaf of bread for $2.

Iā€™m preparing my druid for TBC so I really hope they do a ā€œnaturalā€ transition and allow us to transfer existing 60s or reroll if we want.

If everyone is forced to start over, weā€™ll be World of Barbies and Space Goats.

Boosting will be the standard even more-so if people are rolling during launch. Reason being that at least 50% of the boosters out there are in some way associated with gold sellers. My server has a huge cartel of gold sellers t hat run boosts all day

We didnā€™t even use a paladin, we just had our mages flamestrike and nuked the adds

I mean Iā€™ve already spent a few thousand gold on my future paladin for speed leveling gear and 0-300 profession boosts.

Actual dungeon boosting would be pretty wonderful if people are really still doing it post tbc launch (instead of, say leveling to 70 themselves)ā€¦ Hopefully theyā€™d get rid of the 30/day instance lock as well, since even with out boosts, itā€™s easy to hit that cap during the 30-40 sm slog, particularly when 5 rets can just power bomb sm with everyone being a tank, healer, and dps.

Developing games is expensive yes, but the tuning of existing stuff is not hard and not really expensive.

There is a lot that could be done, but I just donā€™t trust Blizzard any more.

People will do it, there will be a big demand and the gold farmers will take advantage of that while the pressure is on to hit max lvl quickly

ā€œIf Blizzard doesnā€™t let me bring my classic characters to tbc Iā€™m not gonna play tbc!ā€

Yes you will. You know you will. You have multiple 60s and play 40 hours a week. Wtf else are you gonna do?

I wonā€™t though, I want to play tbc with my character Iā€™ve spent 49 days on, not classic over again on a new character.

Iā€™ll just play something else.

making gold in tbc is even more trivial than it is in classic

resetting gold will do absolutely nothing

If itā€™s just classic over again why play anyway?

Then Iā€™ll do TBC classic 15 years from now.

You realize weā€™re going to have an army of alts and tons of gold in tbc right? You canā€™t take our knowledge of tbc away. We will get to 70 first. We will farm everything needed in tbc first. The unfortunate thing is tbc wouldnā€™t survive if everyone had to start over. I asked several of my friends how they felt about starting over. Not one of them was for it and none of them played pservers like I did. None of them have a ton of gold. None of them are leveling an army of alts like I am to be a primal mooncloth farm like I am.

I doubt blizzard starts us over.

Its going to happen regardless.
Right now the alliance pop is what it is with a portion of the paladin playerbase only playing alliance cause they have too.
Remove the only thing keeping them there and the only thing they lose is past character progression in a non-monetary/non-gear sense.

If I mained a pally theres no way iā€™d be staying alliance.

Wrong. Making gold pre-dailies was a pain in the backside.
