TBC Classic Character Boost issue

I attempted to use my 58 boost on an undead rogue, I picked my appearance, chose a name, reviewed my selections, hit accept and whammo! instead of an undead rogue I have an undead warrior. Now I went to place a ticket in the contact support. There is no blanket tab for this so I typed in the description area and the little murloc says thanks for the info. I hit continue and it just brings me back to the pick one menu. If I click on I still need help it just loops back to the first page. How do I know if my problem is being addressed?

Try to categorize the issue, boosts are usually not changed after using the service, but you can try submitting a ticket here.

Thank yo for the response, I would have been amazing if the in game support site actually gave me that part of the site as an option.

I too purchased a character booster and applied it to my character. The boost disappeared and my character is still level 1. I reloaded the game and still level 1, entered the game and still level 1. Really hope I didn’t just waste 40 dollars without getting my booster…

I’m seeing one just done - on Haryon, showing level 58 here.

So apparently this is happening to a lot of people right now. Please fix the system asap

Please be sure to add a post to the Classic Bug Reports forum so that the QA team will see it as well.

It just happened to me too I put my ticket in so weird

I was making a bunch of characters this morning and I noticed I kept accidentally making warriors even though I know I selected other classes. I had to go delete them several times and remake them. I’m not sure if changing something after the fact defaulted them to warrior and I didn’t notice until I clicked to create them, or it was an interface glitch, but it happened a few times for me. I wonder if this issue is related, but is more difficult to fix for a boost than a level 1. :frowning:

Hey all, a quick question for you.

When initiating the character boost, at any point during the process did you switch races, after you selected your class?

Happened to me as well, I also put in a ticket. I was making my boost character and was planning on it being a mage… but it turned out to be a warrior when it was in character select screen. I don’t remember changing races, but I may have changed facial features on the character

I notice just playing around on the character screen, changing the race option does default to warrior in most cases even if the other race you choose has the class that is already selected (except paladin in the case of blood elf). If I click the options for draenei shaman, then click troll, it defaults back to warrior. Changing gender doesn’t seem to affect it.

Hello! I have the same issue. Now I have a 58 warrior troll on Mankrik that I do not want to play (I wanted to play a shaman). Is there any way to fix this? TBC boosts are a 1 and done thing.

same thing happened to me and i immediately opened a support ticket. lvl 58 warrior on Chroniia on Faerlina that was supposed to be a hunter.

I made a fresh level 1 Tauren, set it to hunter, picked appearance options and name, did not load to game though character showed on server selection screen correctly (right name, race, class), used boost, class changed to warrior.

Very, very disappointing there are numerous posts about this issue since day one and it has not been corrected yet the store keeps on selling a broken service.

Doubly so given how useless the help bot was in providing any assistance and basically acting like it was my fault your store failed to provide the correct service.

That’s the thing, Dawnie, the service seems to work for 99.99+% of the people using it. Our QA team has been unable to reproduce what has been reported thus far, so it isn’t really cause yet to disable the service.

If we could get a video of this happening that might help, but so far I don’t believe we’ve seen any of those.

I’m not entirely certain what you are referring to, Dawnie. I show two recent contacts on this account. The first one, about 30 minutes ago, is a refund request. There isn’t any mention of an error with the boost, just a flat request. In this case, because the boost was used, it was deemed ineligible for a refund.

The second contact, about 15 minutes ago, you mention the error with the boost, among other comments… That ticket has not yet been answered. The first was part of our automated refund system that looks at the eligibility of your request and either grants it or doesn’t, based on if you qualify.

any idea of when my account will be looked at? having this happen to a boost is quite devastating especially since I had plans to get it to 60 and gear it as soon as possible.

I’d love to have a video - but video-ing the creation isn’t really something I do, can’t imagine many others do as well.

The only thing that I can think of which hopefully was clear with my response was that I created a fresh character, and in the creator changed the race (to Tauren), then the class (to hunter), then messed with the sliders and picked a name and completed my character - at which point the game showed the character on the server character selection screen as I had set it up.

From that screen, I selected the boost, hit the option to use an existing character, then clicked the character on the selection screen and ended up with a warrior.

Note, I did NOT log into the level 1 character after creation before using the boost.

So I’m not sure if those of use with the issue are having an issue where the game isn’t really building a character / setting the race / class until first log in, and when a boost is used on a brand new character is reverting to defaults (warrior seems to be the default class).

I’m almost absolutely certain this is your issue. The character doesn’t actually exist until it’s been logged into.

I logged into my level 1 Druid. Logged out, attempted the boost, got a lvl 58 Warrior. Ticket pending.
