Targeted Corruptions and Faster Cloak Empowerment

Originally it was designed on the basis that only characters that have an alt with a rank 3 essence which they might want to purchase would get echoes. It seems like once you started getting echoes on a character you continued even if they had purchased the essence they needed and no longer had essences to purchase. Several of my characters were not getting echoes, but later they did after a different character bought one with nazjatar rep.

is this what blizzard gonna do for this expansion to make it so call ’ alts friendly"???

People who don’t play alts think it’s the most alt-friendly expansion yet.

A) Corruption vendor doesn’t go live tomorrow.
B) Racing Pulse might not be on the vendor at first.
C) Racing Pulse III might not be on the vendor at first, or for weeks.
D) Blizzard kept some RNG, because they hate fun.

Read my question ,which one? Total essences, which I don’t have all the dps essences in this game or rank3 in the HOA? If it is the HOA that doesn’t make sense I would still getting echoes, because don’t have all.

Pleeease. What is this attitude? You have no idea why someone might not have all the Essences, or even what they do have. What purpose beyond arrogance is there in calling people ‘lazy’?

Responsible? Really? It’s a game, mate, not real life. Many people out there have actual real responsibilities and real life issues that dictate how much they can play and when. Not everyone can afford to sit at their computer 8 hours a day grinding out things.

You forgot one.
E) Currency will be squished so any echoes saved up will be worth very little.

Devil’s Advocate: historically the player who can afford to sit at their computer for 8 hours a day grinding out things has been first to get the better rewards.

Responding to devil’s advocate: what relevance does that even have to my point???

A) Well damnit!
B) Damnit
C) Well hopefully the increased haste one will be.
D) I dont mind RNG
E) Thats all fine because I will even have more echoes by then to get more corruption when it comes out. I currently have 31,450 echos. So I think I can buy whatever I want.

Have you read the Wowhead article? Squishei’s guildmate has 24k echoes on their main. Going by the example list posted in the OP, thats a TD3 and an additional r2 or r3 corruption the moment the vendor goes live.

In the long term, yes I agree this doesn’t really make a difference. It still feels bad for players (such as me) who will start with zero in the bank on the day the vendor goes live.

With how brutal this expansion has been to Alts so far it honestly shocks me how upset people are about alts getting just one minor advantage at the end of the expansion.

I almost feel like they should have just made it mementos to buy the corruption.

Can get a decent amount a week, if you do lower amounts of masks/no masks you would be able to build up. If you do 4/5 masks you would get the sooner and be more decked out in corruption.

I still think current Corruption values would work with mementos. Its end of expansion as well, so who really cares if corruption is being thrown out like an Opera show?

Im very surprised they are readjusting echoes for whatever god forsaken reason the more I think about it.

I agree that it makes no sense that some players who didn’t need to buy essences were getting echoes throughout and some got none.

No. They should have given people a corruption currency when disenchanting, cleansing, or scrapping a corrupted piece.

It is literally the best minor advantage of the entire expansion. Corruption is the strongest addition of player power in BFA. The rare corruptions for many classes are by far the best of those corruptions. This allows alts to get those ultra rare corruptions noticeable before mains and for no other reason than they did less content.

This is total bull %?$% if they dont somehow reset the currency or make it a new currency since i always thought it was only a catch up essence type of currency i used them as soon as i had a new r3 essence on main so after i didnt received any echos since i had them all on alts. So what the’re saying is that i will be penalyse for assuming this currency would remains an essence catch-up one is that it? If so im just done until shadowlands lol

The catch-up was there from the first day people reached +15. You can get two ranks per week, until caught up to folks only doing one per week.

The point is that players are being rewarded now for not playing the game. I actively complete all content weekly that awards echoes on my mage, yet I collect 0 because I came into patch 8.3 having all my essences already. Meanwhile, someone’s alt or someone who never bothered to get all of their off-spec essences has been mindlessly collecting echoes for two months for completing the same content.

In its current state, this implementation is a huge disadvantage to players who have already been actively playing the game, as we were never given the opportunity to collect echoes in the first place. The currency should be reset, awarded retroactively, or a new currency should be created altogether.

  • A reset hurts player characters who are still collecting rank 3 essences.
  • Retroactive reward would take a lot of time to calculate what players have missed out on over almost 9 weeks.
  • A new currency doesn’t affect the current system, so the echoes can drop at the same rate – and the costs can remain the same. A new currency also starts everyone on the same level. A new currency also gives Blizzard more time to properly test their corruption vendor, because it would take about a week for players to accumulate enough new currency to purchase a high end corruption.

A new currency is the best option.

The players who are “at an advantage” right now is exactly why it is unfair. They did nothing to deserve this advantage and they didn’t even know they had it until tonight.

I agree that a new currency is the best option for leveling the playing field, but I was merely laying out all possible alternatives for a solution.
