No, a currency wipe isn’t required. Just a new currency for the Preserved Contaminent items you buy off MOTHER.
Wiping the entire currency hurts alts who are still getting r3 essences their respective mains had, and that is a catch-up system that is working. Wiping it would only hurt that.
Just make a new currency for the new item (corruption box), and keep the active currencies (echoes) for the active items (essences). And don’t increase the cost on the essences. That makes absolutely no sense.
I’m saying after enough time it doesn’t really matter.
This is the final raid tier exceptional nerf that isn’t even present for the other 3 raid tiers. Players are so much stronger right now than a few weeks into 8.3 it’s nuts.
Of course doing more damage is always better, but any guild progressing by now is WAY beyond being held back by gear. It’s just a little be more for brute forcing I guess.
Assuming they wanted to release this tomorrow, a lot of people’s ideas would involve a much longer delay in release.
A currency wipe to not piss off the people who were getting nothing while playing for the past month+ is the easiest solution to that problem. Or alternatively convert anything past like 5k so people who didn’t get enough of a warning and still need essences aren’t screwed + don’t change the price of essences.
I’d like to get my 7 Gushing Wounds ASAP so I can play the parsing game during reclears. Being at least 2 weeks behind is egregious for the fact that I had no control over this.
Blizzard, please don’t forget about the mains who have been playing all the content every week and have zero echoes. Echoes that would finally buy a corruption effect that we haven’t seen drop. I do like the changes for my alts.
By that math, they’ve only been getting 2k per week until now. It’s been 9 weeks since Echoes were added, meaning that a person who will earn 10k/week going forward currently has 18k Echoes.
Otoh, if a person has 40k, then they’ve been earning 4.4k per week. After the change, that will be 22k per week, so they’ll have less than a week’s head start. Hardly a horror story. Especially if, as I suggested, toons who cannot earn Echoes get 15k as a bonus.
I see your point. As I did not care to get all rank3 essences on my main before echoes became a thing, I’m getting them. If not, I would be on the same boat as you and others.
Nishba solution seems fine to me, or give gold and reset as you suggest.
So a worthless currency for main characters with T3 essence ranks all of a sudden becomes the most valuable currency for mains over night? Users that re-rolled or are playing alts are rewarded, but users that played their mains too much are given a disadvantage?
Will characters that were ineligible for Echoes of Ny’alotha be compensated in some capacity? This just seems unfair to users that decided to max out their characters unless the currency is reset to 0 when this patch goes live.
In the post it states that everyone will start getting currency immediately as soon as they’ve done the cloak intro quest. The essence requirements to get currency will be gone.
Not sure if people have realised the devastation this is going to cause haha.
A player with T12 TD is going to dish out a beam of death dealing 72% of there health. In bear form my health pool is over a 1million. Just a casual 720k each time a mob hits it
