Well, that made it easier to upgrade my lvl 9 cloak. I seriously was going to hang it up on getting to 10 if I had to eye bleed another Uldum grind.
This is my suggestion, especial for people whom are in the boat of having all the essences and not have gotten any echos.
For each essence you have gotten at rank 3
you get X amount of echoes reward to that toon.
That way people don’t feel punished for already collecting them all.

Am I the only one that gets Echoes on my main all the damn time? Is it because my first alt farmed up a rank 3 Essence that my main never bothered with?
This it the point of the x5 scaling. Basically, any old stockpile that other people have will be completely devalued to the point where you and them are at equal footing going forward.
Which was just reduce by EIGHTY percent! Anyway, I see why they’re doing it this way. People with 20k Echoes and nothing currently to buy with them would be super upset if that all just went poof before the change. On the other hand, Echo collection is going from a walking pace to a flying pace, and people are complaining about some dedicated player’s alt being 3 steps ahead at the beginning. You’re going to be getting so many Echoes that the “head start” won’t be THAT far ahead.
This is a Karen complaint. And the people ragging on the CM for interacting instead of acquiescing to their demands, it’s because they are still reading the thread and DON’T HAVE THE POWER to give you what you want. They can just say, “oh, okay, I’ll tell the devs to do it that way, then.” They’ve given the feedback to the people who need it, and now they’re waiting, just like you are.

How about a positive suggestion instead? Say, for people who CAN’T currently get Echoes, give them a bonus with the new system. Like, everyone with all possible Rank 3 Essences should get 15k as part of a feat of strength or something. I think they deserve it.
It may not catch them up to the alts with the highest hoards in the game, but those alts are having their stockpiles devalued to 20% of their current value, so that seems a fair compromise.
(Ftr, I DO NOT have all essences by ANY stretch, so this isn’t greed on my part. I would NOT get the Feat of Strength)

Hello, why do you not make the Echoes BoA??? So they can be used on Alts? What is the point if you still have to farm on a freshly new alt with no gear.

Alot of the people who have 20-40k are people who just had 1 essence on another char, or main swapped or w/e. Since they’ll get just as much from what you’re saying as the rest of us ma ins, they’ll still be 20-40k ahead people who have 0 echoes despite doing tons of content cause they already had all their essences…
Assuming you play a decent chunk per week, you’d get 10k per week with the inflation. Going in with 20k would mean 2 week head start. Tell me, is 2 week head start not “THAT” far head?
A currency wipe makes way more sense then inflatting the purchase and earn rates

Same issue they had with the mythic gear buying earlier in the xpac. people were trying to get a head start in buying a piece a gear asap
Why you want to punish alts finally getting to jump in easier by buying a piece of corruption off the bat?

They have enough warning to buy there essences now, after which they will be in the same boat as everybody else.
They still need an appropriate lvl of loot to but a t3 TD on it?
Still the most relevant content. Or are you implying that people progressing now don’t need better gear/corruption or that people reclearing wouldn’t have easier time with better gear/corruption?
