That’s stretching.
That’s how the game as worked as far as catchup go.
The advantage you had, you had it for a while.
New patch, it’s lessen/reset.
Are you gonna go around how they shouldn’t reset gear each patch.
This is really another discussion.
And different from how this new system for corruptions.
Because the corruptions gains were not “capped”, I didn’t have perfect “bis” before this patch. If I had I wouldn’t care because it would be like essence catchup for me.
it’s strange that NOT all corruptions are being offered at once… not “rotations” should exist for such things.
while 7.3 legendaries where all in the vendor BiS or not.
sure a welcoming npc but the fact that some specs havent seen rank 3 or even rank 1 of certain corruptions is beyond a joke… this isnt fixing the system by any means.
There’s also the huge advantage people with 40k stockpiled get with a rotating vendor. They will already always have the currency they need whenever the corruptions they want come up on the vendor. Those who are expected to catch up to 40k… which will still take weeks with 5x (if I told you to go earn 6000 echoes in the next few days today, well goodluck to you haha), might not have enough currency when the corruption we want is live on the vendor. If so sucks to be you… gotta wait a few more weeks probaly for it to rotate back in. Which just puts you even more behind…
Being punished for not being behind in the first place on essences isn’t good game design.
This is what people aren’t getting.
“You’ll catch up”
“You aren’t that far behind”
That’s not the point. This PUNISHES the player for playing the game on their main.
Now EVERYONE can do silly DPS with stars!
Overall a good move. But this is a horrible DPS system.

Dude play the game…you get echos on every char, main or not…so the only people that have 0 echoes are those that are not doing anything but sitting in TC doing nothing
It isn’t stretching it at all. In fact, many of the people with all rank 3 essences on their mains prior to echoes were the exact same people QQ about wanting account wide essences on their alts. So it seems to me you guys want to come out the winner in this twice. You never wasted time on earning essences on alts, you spent that time earning all the rank 3s on your mains and now you want ‘equality’ when you are already ahead.
Although if they want to wipe my echoes and just give my main all the rank 3 essences I guess I would be okay with that - what about you?

False. If you have all rank 3s you get no essences.
why do you need to get the last word in blizz. why not admit the system was trash from jump and you didnt learn from Legion legendary feed back and to give us what we want but prove you have the power you put it on a random rotating cycle. just give us the vendor with all the corruptions so we can have fun with the remaining months of this trash expansion. blizz always tricks players into thinking they are getting a spoonful of pudding and it turns out to be a turd its unreal
Yeah, which I think is why they are devaluing it in the first place. An 80% tax on everyone’s current stash seems like a good reset mechanic without just wiping out everyone’s effort.
You do not earn echoes on characters with all essences at r3. This is the problem.

Since you are completely WRONG, I’ll go ahead and inform you- to have ZERO echos, you had to do the following:
Play your main and do ALL the content to get all of your Essences to rank 3 before the Echos became a thing. Once you have all rank 3’s, you gained 0 Echos from any of that content.
Sounds like you’re not the one playing your “Main”…brother.
Could someone explain/elaborate on this for me please? I don’t understand Blizzard’s concern/advice.
mains that already had rank 3 essences before echoes CANNOT EARN ECHOES. Read the posts bud.
So here is where I am feeling a bit screwed over. After I finish the WQs today my horde main will have over 1500 Echoes…but I can’t buy rank three of the focusing iris until i get my mythic chest tomorrow…but at that point it’ll cost me 2500, instead of 500. Which means I’ll have to go do a couple emissaries, or whatever else, to get the 1250 to then purchase it and nothing else, when I should be at the point of buying three essences.
Notifying us of a change this big with one day lead time is pretty crappy especially when we’re waiting on a chest to finish an upgrade.
I highly suggest that you make it so that we don’t have to grind 36 pieces and can only get 3 per week.
If you have 1000 today, you can buy 2 essences. Tomorrow, you’ll almost half way to affording 1.
I’m curious what percentage of mains were 3/3 for all essences. It still required you to do all content throughout 8.2 and 8.3 consistently to hit that point.
Pretty sure not all mains went and dabbled in PvP and raided consistently, did all their dailies, etc.
If my main is anything to go by, any 1 of these missing was enough to let you keep accruing echoes with no cap.
If you play one char, you don’t get echo. Which part do you not understand?
