Trust me, this won’t make catchup any easier.
I’m not saying they meant for it to be that way. But the way they implemented the currency system is punishing for people who worked to complete all the R3 essences. It’s a bad game design and people are rightfully criticizing it.
And it’s not like this is some complicated issue to fix. They literally just need to come up with a new currency or make stockpiled currency irreverent like how they do with residuum.

They should be purchasable with War Resources or Coalescing Visions. Mains being screwed over isn’t fair.

Thank you so much for cutting back on the RNG.
The fact that these still rotate and aren’t all available is still a bit annoying - but it’s definitely a step in a good direction.
When will the full table of costs be available? It would be nice to know the full cost of everything so we can budget and give ourselves enough time to farm enough currency we need in case the corruption we’re aiming for becomes available.
Also - how many contaminants will be available for sale at a given time?
It’s also to devalue the savings of the current players who’ve amassed a bunch of echoes, it levels the playing field a bit.
Sure does suck that my main hasn’t been able to collect ANY echoes since they were added to the game…

So you awarding more, but things are going up by the same factor - so in a sense you are just making the numbers look bigger without actually giving anything extra.
It would be one thing if you were increasing accrual by a factor of 5, but increasing the cost of the purchasable items by a factor less than 5. Otherwise, you are just adding more digits for the sake of numbers looking bigger.
The cloak catch up is nice though.

People act like they’ll be “behind” when the content is no longer a race and barely even relevant.
Though I do LOVE the tryhard tears. Especially the geared heroic/mythic mains. The sadistic part of me truly does hope they somehow get benched or put out in some way since there is a decent chance they’ve kept otherwise geared and competent players out of content on our own mains/alts.
And before anyone bothers, my main is just as affected and is the one who still to do this day lacks even any ranks of TD or even EV and thus is just as far “behind”.

Yeah I don’t know how to approach this. With 15 alts, I honestly have no memory of what I cleansed or on who. You’d need a spreadsheet to keep track. I hope there will be warning text on the item so I don’t purchase for the wrong slots.

me: " who needs echos those are for alts right?"
Blizz: " yeah so you can play other characters and not feel like you have to grind them again"

me: endlessly grinds for the best possible corruption
Blizz: " OH btw you can just buy corruption with Echos 4head"
me: “… you mean the thing you only give to alts…”

All for a vendor but there is a pretty glaring issue right now.
My friend had all their main spec essences but none of their offspec essences on their main. They then got a rank 3 offspec essence on an alt the normal way, this unlocked Echoes for their main. They have accumulated over 30,000 echoes on their main by just playing the game (raiding, m+, and weeklies)
I unlocked all my offspec essences a while ago, and so I was unable to unlock echoes on my main (and didn’t even know I was supposed to). I have done the exact same content (raiding, M+, weeklies etc) but with no echoes.
So now my friend gets two free Twilight Devastation III enchants, just because they had an alt that was a different spec than the main…
Can we PLEASE just do a currency reset instead? Starting off that much behind is really putting a bad taste on something that should be good news

Few questions:
- Will the vendor be the same for everyone (i.e. Will everyone see the same things for purchase)?
- Will it be similar to essence vendor in that you can technically buy the same item multiple times. Eg. If there is a severe 3, can I buy it multiple times or does it disappear after 1st purchase.
- Can these “enchants” be added to BoE’s and Profession gear?

Except the inflation isn’t even that relevant for how much you could stockpile the currency. There are people who has been stockpiling 24k+ or even 40k+.

Is that really needed at the end of an expansion though?
People that are serious about raiding have already achieved AOTC at this point. We are going to be in this expansion until either September or October…open the gates and let the players go nuts at this point.

It is though, because the value goes down. If you have 40k today, that’s 80 theoretical essences you could buy. Tomorrow, that number will be 16. It lowers their value.
