I’m not sure this is the upsell you think it is… when stuff is costing 5x’s the previous rate… Sounds more like a ‘keep them grinding’ mechanic than anything.

Why wasn’t this a thing since the beginning of 8.3? Starting to feel guilty about the amount of money spent on wow tokens by people feeling forced to buy good corrupts off the AH?
There are a lot of people still progressing through mythic.
Except we’re talking about corruption here. People who’s been stockpiling the currency did so because they didn’t need or want to buy/complete the missing essences. That means they get a head start on corruption vendors.
Nobody is talking about buying essences. We are talking about buying corruptions.
40k buys 2x TD rank 3 and you’ll still have 10k left over.
Reset currency, or put a new currency in.

They still had to play to earn it. I can’t even imagine how much someone would have to play to have 40k right now. I have done the assaults and m+ cache every week, and my highest toon has 7k.

seems to me that essences shouldn’t be going up in cost with the change, this is no longer a catch up currency.
That’s great, but at some point in the last patch you call it good and move on. We’ve seen it nearly every expansion. If people want to keep working on Mythic, more power to them. We finished Heroic and called it good until the Fall. We still do keys and alt runs, but meh…this is the time to just goof around and have fun.
If this is the direction they want to go with, then I would say after the devaluing hits then about 3-4 weeks later they should reduce the cost on everything and open it up.
This feels like when one of the IT guys is quitting because he’s not received a $$$ bonus for sleeping on the job and he cuts all the CAT6 cables from the server room before leaving the building and heading to McDonalds.
This is an awful implementation of a ‘corruption vendor’.

How often can we expect to see all corruption and rank levels on MOTHER’s inventory rotation? Weekly? Monthly? How often can I expect to see MY WANTED CORRUPTION on the vendor?

The technical limitation means that every item you get from M+ cache and Horrific Vision are not eligible to have corruption added with this vendor. This is the only gear that I and most others WANT to add corruption to.

Why is there no catch-up to cloaks that are rank 15? So an alt or new main can get to rank 15 cloak but then has to spend WEEKS to catch up to the corruption resistance? WHY?

Why increase the cost of buying essences? Who cares at this point if new characters can get their rank 3 essences quickly?
Why do we always seem to get a poorly designed system to try to ‘fix’ your poorly designed systems? SIGH I knew when I heard rumor that you were maybe putting in a corruption vendor that you’d somehow mess it up with something overly complex and stupid. Good job once again you swing and miss!

I’m genuinely curious because I have been kinda checked out for the last half of this expansion, what determined whether or not a character could earn Echos? Cuz atm I have a little less than 5k on my main.
Except I COULDN’T earn it despite the fact that I’ve been playing the whole time because I was diligent enough to earn all the R3 before the currency was introduced.
Do you get the issue now?

So people who have been collecting more Coalescing Visions than was necessary now can just farm Horrific Visions and get a HUGE Echoes boost over people that only collected enough to get the bare minimum completed? I know people with over 1 million CV on their account…
Just make a new currency for crap like this instead of being lazy. You are so out of touch with the player base.

Happy with the idea.
Not happy with the implementation. No reset or separate currency seems silly. I assume it’s just “BFA is done, we’re working on SL now, it won’t be an issue in 6 months.”

My bad. I didn’t read the bit where Blizzard said the removed mains from players. I also forgot to mention how I am literally the text book definition of a “screwed main” since I have all the rank 3 essences AND still no desirable corruptions after all this time. Ironically, my alt is just as geared now as my main and has not only 2 different rank 3 TD pieces but also a rank 2 EV and alternate side pieces with decent options depending on content.
What does my main get? Tentacles with a side of leech and avoidance.

If you can’t fix the technical limitation of not being able to apply a corruption to a previously cleansed piece of gear, can you make the weekly cache items drop without a corruption and also drop an item to apply a corruption?
So instead of getting say, gloves with Racing Pulse II you get a pair of gloves and one of the items to apply Racing Pulse II.
Not fixing this is going to be annoying when you get a potentially bis item with trash corruption for you spec.
Ideally you would fix the problem so people can actually use the items they get instead of ending up with a bis item, poor corruption and can’t even farm the corruption you want for it.

Many players have A LOT of currency stocked up. Rather than resetting it, you can inflate the cost so the stockpiles have less future value.
