Maybe use her solution for queuable stuff. Your situation is legit, but also agreed upon. The tank is okay with what you’re doing. It’s mutual.
I doubt OP asks for it. Otherwise he wouldn’t have posted this thread.

I think it all depends on the group. If they are decent players and pulling them to you then sometimes it’s not too bad. If they think they are super bad a$$ elite bro dudes then they just become annoying and make it difficult when it doesn’t need to be.
Heh, ironic.
On that much we can agree
But keeping aggro and keeping alive are two very different things. The dps just expect a tank to tank half the dungeon and survive it. If the tank dies they’re automatically crap, which is unfair.
Tanks should pull what they feel comfortable holding aggro on and staying alive with. If they feel squishy or don’t have faith in their healer they should pull less.
DPS shouldn’t be taking damage to begin with aside from occasional splash damage and unavoidable damage. The problem is; dps don’t move or interrupt because it’ll interrupt their damage. If that happens they won’t be topping the chart and their ego will be hurt.
Healers shouldn’t have to heal dps as often as they do. The fact that they do means they have less attention, mana and healing going toward the tank; and in turn makes the tank go slower to be safe.
If the dps would play properly we wouldn’t be having this discussion right now.
Or you can just let the Tank just pull all that.
Fair enough example, but you can do that without pulling ahead, it just requires more communication.
If tanks did better pulls then dps and healers wouldn’t feel the need to either.
Seriously! With all this knowledge I’m being presented I would like to see your main tank! I want to know how skilled my teacher is!
All that really needs to be said on the matter. It’s a team effort.
You obviously didn’t read the post about dps taking too many heals away from the tank and not interrupting. If the tank feels like they can’t count on the dps or healer they will pull less.
Sorry that is not now MMOs work and if you can not accept that then you need to find another game to play.
Yeah because self entitled instant gratification “elite” players would never pull otherwise right? It has to be the tanks fault…
Nope. Tanks pull or you die. I have ZERO issue letting someone die on my tank for pulling as a DPS same reason I have zero issue not healing someone being stupid as a DPS.
If the tanks going slow, there might be a reason.
If people are pulling by accident it’s whatever. That happens and part of the fun of tanking is being able to clean up a mess like that (sometimes).
If people are just pulling constantly though I’ve definitely gone out of my way to make sure they keep aggro unless they bring the mob over to me. One death or near death is often enough to dissuade people.
Of course none of that would apply if they were pulling as part of the overall strategy.
Or you can just let the Tank just pull all that.
You can–and do if there isn’t a hunter–but the hunter can speed things up significantly. Not to mention it makes the pull easier for the tank too. I love having good hunters / rogues in my groups when I’m tanking.

I would mark priority targets, snipe a couple of groups and stand where he should stand to pick up aggro quickly and then blink out just as they got there for his thunderclap to pick them all up.
It worked great and he appreciated it. We were, of course, in comms though.
Anyway, another example would be a dps sniping a pat that the tank would have missed and kiting it back to them so that things keep moving smoothly rather than the group needing to wait for it to come back around.
Of course, there are DPS that have no business pulling because they don’t know the pulls, where the tank is going, or how healthy the group is.
My point is that speaking in absolutes is a bad practice and that DPS pulling CAN be helpful. There are, or course, times where it is detrimental too though.
never seems to happen when I. Keeping a good pace.
That dont happen to me. And I’m a pleb
Well i don’t know what to tell you, I have ran into a good number of “dude bro” dps players that were total a$$ hats and wanted to run the dungeon.
Which is what I’m talking about when I say “judge the group and adjust your pace accordingly.”
Sometimes you have to go slower than you’d like, other times you will need to go a bit faster than you’re comfortable with.
The latter is how you get better though.
Just vote kick dps who act like this so they can wait 30-50min in que cause they did not get what they wanted.
Aviela please get a hobby, I beg of you.
