Tanks "healing" more than Healers is bad game design

I think they were just demonstrating how we shouldn’t stress over healing done by tanks. Tanks self sustain in different ways, he was showing how warriors are different than say a bdk. I want to say at one point amz and maybe even disc priest barrier showed up on healing meters and people didn’t like that lol.

Meters aren’t everything and they are aren’t a full picture of what people do to help not die.

Agreed but you will get a ton of dips and tanks yelling at you that you are wrong.

Well, what I take from this thread is that 90% of you guys disagree with my point. I take it, I understand it. That is ok, my opinion is not changed tho.

I will just stop healing because for me it is not fun to see that my HEALING role is out healed by the TANK role.

If you guys are fine with healers having less HPS than tanks, allright. I’m not. Not healing till this changes.

At least Ret is very fun to play o/

I can guarantee as you do harder content you will be outhealing the tank and sweating some bullets healing some fights.

I’m really not into doing higher than +20s. I’m fine where I am now.

The thing is… most tanks AREN’T healing more than healers. Addons and logs just count active mitigation, ie what tanks are supposed to do, as Healing, so that its measurable. Its not really healing. In a lot of cases.

Its semantics, but the game just doesnt differentiate well between absorbs and mit. Theyre all just treated as absorb healing.

Also blood dk is specially designed to have terrible active mitigation in exchange for it’s healing. That’s the entire point.

Is this the only gripe you have about healing? If so, disable your details meter and just worry about healing checks. If everyone lives and you are timing keys, killing raid bosses, who cares what incomplete meters of survivability measure?

I disagree. I don’t really care for the second rate DPS that sometimes heals game play.

Boring AF IMO.

Why does PW:S and Ignore Pain and Celestial Brew? I mean it is just preventing damage right?

Why does Mass Barrier show up on hps meters but not Zephyr despite having very similar “values” in heavy AoE?

Yeah, one thing that I don’t think people realize is that, when you see a tank doing like 105k HPS it’s because they’re taking even more DPS than that!

Like, I don’t think some people understand that tanks take so much damage and heal for so much that if healers were buffed to be able to keep them up then the healers/dps would also never die because healers are just healing for like 500% more or whatever.

To be honest that is a problem for Blizz to deal with, I’m just making a rant about disliking having less HPS than the TANK as a healer.

Or it is totally possible that this is not a problem at all. Perhaps healing is super fun, there is no problem in healing. You kick a tree and 50 healers fall. There is no shortage of healers at all, most fun spec to play for sure. NO CHANGES NEEDED.
