Tanks "healing" more than Healers is bad game design

balanced for what difficulty level?

should geared tanks be impervious to damage in lower keys? or should they get absolutely destroyed no matter what they do in 27s?

When a blood dk keeps going from 1% hp to full health its hard to know when to heal them. The rubberbanding from their heals make it so hard and ive been healing for years

Yeah bro, I KNOW IT. I’m not a pro but I’m sure not a noob. I usually finish my runs with arond 28-40k DPS (honestly, I know it could be better but IMO it’s good enough).

I KNOW how it is, I know that it is how it is right now. I’m saying I DISLIKE the way it is working right now.

You guys need to understand that there is a difference when you DON’T know how something works, and when you KNOW how something works but you DONT LIKE IT.

Jeez what is the matter with you guys? I just don’t like it, don’t feel GOOD to play a healer to HEAL LESS THAN THE GODDAM TANK. That is all I’m saying.

HEALING LESS THAN THE TANK. DAMAGING LESS THAN THE DPSs. What is it, are we healers DUCKS now?

watch their RP, not their health. if they have RP you should not need to heal them. good bdks will rarely need any help from you beyond an external cd when they call it out.

Blood/Guardian Druid will naturally do this because of design. It’s not about the HPS it’s about if they di mechs right

there was a time when boss fights were a race against the tank’s health bar and the healer’s mana bar. tanks getting “crushed” were a thing. defensive ratings were a thing. mana regen in combat was negligible. those days have long since passed.

i agree that the drift away from that model over time has been a problem.

As a healer I’ve never cared about HPS outside of being able to pass heal checks. If a healers overall HPS is low then they probably had a good group and should have been able to put out some decent damage.

But healer damage is taboo here. Better spam heal

You clearly don’t understand how it works because asking for more “mitigation” and less self healing doesn’t change besides how it shows up on the meters.

A PWarrior (the notoriously “worst” self healing tank) in Freehold would blow pretty much every tank out of the water on the meter if every single block showed up as healing done. If I pop shield wall and reduce a 1 million damage hit to 500k, I effectively “healed” 500k in that global yet it doesn’t show that on your beloved meter.

Well, the numbers don’t lie… Playerbase was SURE better.

But that is ok if you don’t like it and prefer the way it is now. That is not my point.

What I’m saying in this thread is that I would like the HEALING role to shine in HEALING, the TANK role to shine in TANKING/mitigation/DR/Resistances and the DPS role to shine on damage.

It’s sad to play the role of a HEALER and do less HEALING than the TANK, that is what I’m saying. It is ok if you subjectivities/tastes/preferences are not the same as mine tho.

idk, people keep saying this would trivialize content but I don’t think so. I’m not asking for the mass rez to be usable in combat but the single, individual ones that kind of just exist as a stepping stone.

Then you start punishing people with raid wipes if there is not a bare minimum of five or six people in a soak circle to die in it or either the whole group stacks.

Yeah, if I can go the entire run and not feel like i’m on the brink of death constantly from unavoidable damage through my own self heals and defensives I’m happy.

I’m just not allowed to be happy very often this season sadly. :frowning:

Oddly the best healer I’ve played with all season was a mistweaver.
