Which is worse, because it promotes looking up what the best powers you could start with are, which takes all the fun out of the content in the first place.
I think the problem is the great inequality between specs. For being the gatekeeping mechanism behind legendary items vengeance demon hunters shouldn’t get a free ride. My guild mate rocks Vengeance and still gloats about how easy it is, says it feels “dirty” compared to his shadow priest. Cleared layer 7 in fifteen minutes. That just isn’t good design
It’s still just coming down to your luck with Anima powers, even with VDH.
Ugh troll stop the spamming on every single forum
Can we report this troll?
I’m going to play devils advocate for a second here…
we as tanks were FACEROLLING torghast before… I mean… I cleared layer 5 on both wings last week at 155 ilvl… and literally obliterated it on my 170 gaurdian druid
altho, that was super fun to feel like a god… it’s not a great model as it would get boring pretty fast.
I tried it again last night after the buff and my 175 gaurdian got merked on layer 6 by the machine gun caster boss on the second floor.
then I tried it on my 172 veng DH and was able to clear up to floor 5 on both wings, it was tough but I managed it. (I tried floor 6 for shiggles and got merked)
so all these people saying “it’s a gear issue” are not totally wrong, we… as tanks… just got used to face rolling it, and now that we have to actually think and work at it and pray we get decent anima powers… it kinda sucks.
It’s annoying and demeaning to feel lesser than you were, I’ll give you that… but you can’t deny that we were smashing torghast before the buff
any tank that doesn’t have a decent heal and some interupts… is gonna have a bad time in torghast… cause blizz doesn’t design the floors around your class… just the spec…
and a spec like my veng dh that has crazy heals and lots of silences and stuns… is gonna fair much better than say… a prot warrior. or even gaurdian druid.
I’m sad what they did to torghast, but I can’t say I don’t understand WHY they did it. I just wish they would cater things more carefully and not just blanket sweeping changes, that F-over MANY tank classes.
Not the way he says it. But I know its straight not possibly on my equally geared Fury warrior. Straight up impossible. Fear, spell reflect, stun, cant stop chain spell casts.
Tanks have the fewest players. We’re never the squeaky wheel.
Or maybe he actually likes it? I enjoy Torghast immensely myself. And I don’t want it nerfed to the point where there is no risk and thus it’s boring.
Here’s a good post to address your childish comment.
Not everyone shares the same views and that’s fine, but you don’t have to go around calling peoples trolls for not sharing your view. It doesn’t make for good dialogue.
Fun is less their goal than stretching out the time it takes to get the rewards you’re after.
Definitely reporting you and opening a ticket
Tired of hearing your copy paste responses to every thread
And you don’t need to respond to every single thread
You’re obviously a troll
I mean, why trust someone gloating not to exaggerate? You can go in as VDH and get 3x 20% decree damage as healing 1x Mawrat explosion, and 1x 3% heal when you glide or you can get 400% leap damage, 1 sec cd leap for 90 seconds and that one which shocks your target when you crit. One of those set ups gets a floor boss at 14 stacks with a drums, the other gets the floor boss dead at 2-3 stacks.
Also, you can’t even depend on the dps potion. Either you do 30% more damage to the layer boss or you don’t. With exactly nothing determined by your class or skill.
Again, I don’t really mind. The whole system just promotes annoying gameplay if you feel like pushing higher layers.
Empowered Imperial Consular is a high hp caster floor boss that has a spammable 1.1 second cast spell called Sin Bolt. That spell does 23% of my hp every hit. I can interrupt 1 with pummel, 1 with intimidating shout, mitigate one with reflect, and heal another if I spec into impending victory. Which means I can survive roughly 9 casts or 9.9 seconds into the fight. I do not remember exact hp but it was around 280k. So I need to be at around 28,500 dps to be able to kill him. I’m pretty sure that sort of dps will not be happening until next expansion or at least the very end of this one, is that when I should start doing torghast again?
Again if the difficulty is too high, then the lower layers offer a bulk of the dust anyways and can be easily done solo or in a group. No one is forcing anyone to do the higher layers, it’s there for folks who can rise to the challenge.
Hes not exaggerating, he streamed and I watched part of his “performance”, the time is accurate because we had to do mythics after. Granted hes more geared than you are. Can deflect all you want the inequity is bad design. Just like how 5% isn’t going to fix Assassination rogues. All I can do is provide feedback and Vengeance has undeniable adadvantages
30 heroic dungeon run and still no weapon so I’m stuck using a BFA weapon. My dps is less then 1k. After layer two I gave up not because they were difficult. I could still kill stuff I just don’t want to sit through a 5-10 min fight every floor.
I can’t even imagine what layer 8 is like as a tank now.
it’s good to know that they ruined torghast even further as i’m in the middle of leveling a new main. -_-
Can’t have too much fun! I mean hell they even nerfed the Fae Harp so they can’t be used in raids
I am curious, during beta torgast was hugely popular and supposedly really fun. What was Blizzard’s rationale for changing it?
My enthusiasm for this game is fading away each week.
