Well, his role is rare, and if he doesn’t get paid why in the world would he tank for you? He’d get nothing out of it worth his time, while you get to have a tank that doesn’t need anything run you through the content.

heals and dps are abundant - supply and demand has dictated that tanks can use the market to farm their gold through grouping service instead of slogging away at npc’s solo.
The difference is that tanks are scarce as there is no room for them in raid groups where as dps and healers are a dime a dozen and easily replaceable / found.
Surely you can see the difference.

You could run strat and just say the first two righteous orbs are on reserve or something.
There’s ways around directly charging a fee or all the greens/trash from a dungeon. Put fancy selling items on reserve that you know will likely drop.
50g is pushing it, 25g a run is much more reasonable and a decent rate.

mages charge for ports/water and warriors charge for tanking why cant shamans charge for their stuff?
