I find that if I stay somewhere other than a big city for a period of time I can get a “/w Nzete Want to heal X?” without bothering to look for a group… and that is better than farming as holy even with wand specialization, spirit tap, and divine fury.
I have tank friends. I generally try to alternate picking the dungeon with them to make sure that they get to pick places that they want stuff from also. I figure with the number of items I have from Sunken Temple still, all kinds of places have potential upgrades even if a better wand (still have the one from Mara) will be the biggest soloing upgrade.
If the tank doesn’t need loot from a dungeon, either he needs a social reason or a mercenary reason to run the place. Repairs on plate are expensive. Social reason is “I’ll do it for guildmates or friends”. Mercenary reason is gold either via reserved orbs/greens/gold up front. It is perfectly reasonable.
Also… if you are a shaman charging to do your self rez… you might have a problem. Do you… like … running back?

why not go resto and charge for my healing since im gear out as much as i can be with out running mc.
maybe healers should charge for heals.
Unless your server is vastly different, there are enough healers that you might be able to choose the dungeon but not enough that you can charge for services… if you want to charge… level a warrior tank (ouch!) and be good and geared.

Good luck, healers are a dime a dozen. People dont pay for what is readily available.

Then that’s your choice, and potentially your loss. While those of us that pay them for their service and find that tank, you’ll be the one searching for 2-3 hours before giving up.
You realize that you aren’t the demographic tanks offering these services are after right? LFG is literally flooded with people begging for tanks. Same people all day. You know why? The answer is they don’t know any tanks and can’t find any tanks. In most cases, those people would be willing to pay a tank to to group with them then wait all night. I mean, OP isn’t even asking to get paid, he is asking for unwanted drops. If you can’t find a tank and aren’t willing to give a tank UNWANTED drops, you shouldn’t complain. Some people who actually have lives value their time more than the nominal payment involved. Some would even be willing to pay say 5g each as opposed to waiting hours.

oh and groups are a dime in a dozen as well im fine if the group leader pays the tank cause im not…lol.
Yeah, you’re a dime a dozen. There are TONS of dps, making it harder for other dps to find slots in parties as you’re limited by the number of healers, and especially tanks.
You could be the dps that doesn’t find a group all day.
Hell, I have trouble finding groups for my dungeons and I’m the second rarest spec’…

Yeah, if you’re willing to run content you don’t need for no reason. I don’t, this is ignorance which is why I originally didn’t quote this.
2 groups looking for Scholo, well I’m 60 and don’t need xp. Don’t need any drops from here. Guess I should go to Scholo even though I need UBRS. Makes total sense.

I have multiple tank friends… we decide we want to do a dungeon and then see if we know enough dps on or if we are pugging some. Or I decide to take the “I see you are a priest in the world not in a dungeon, want to heal ours”. I’m not the demographic that would pay for a tank… but I can see that people might do so. I get groups easily enough as a healer, but the lookingforgroup always has a number of “need a tank and gtg” groups.
I don’t really do dungeons on dps alts because I can’t be bothered to look that hard.
Groups with 3 dps in them looking for a tank and healer are a dime a dozen. Groups that already have a tank… well, those aren’t common and tend to be in lfg for a time measured in seconds rather than minutes.

real ignorance is paying for a tank i never have and never will and im about fully geared out as ele with out running mc.
i never had issues finding groups as dps or a tank.
