what a strange thing to say when they change the arena system, they put paid boosts in the game, they layer the world, and give ally palas seal of blood
Something that I personally don’t want is to play retail with all the people who are rude, easily offended, condescending, too busy to play a mmo, who want a game to be for THEM and to hell with anyone else playing it.
So I’m playing classic. And here come the people who play retail, playing classic, and asking for whatever random QoL from retail to be put into classic.
To which I ask, why the hell would you waste your time playing an inferior version of WoW? Clearly it’s not for the community, or the guilds, or the nostalgia, since these things are eschewed in the name of convenience and QoL changes that ended up with retail as it is today.
So when I say, “go back to retail”, I don’t know why you’d be upset about it. Seems like retail is the better game for you.
You missed the point, I think. People don’t heal or tank for pugs because it’s not fun. Do you think that the guy who “would totally play a tank” if he didn’t have to respec to dps and back for gold is going to tank for a random pug?
Not for long, because other players ruin it for them.
I do use the lfg channel and guild. Not every run you ever do will be with a full guild group, and the lfg is a cluster of garbage even when filtered with an addon.
More importantly, what possible reason could you have for NOT wanting the LFG tool in game that is functionally the same as lfg channel, only with categorisation and functional search?
if you loking for a LFG thing … i belive in another thread said something about puggle. i think its a made addon. i know its not the same but might help
Ah I see. So, your motivation is to gatekeep the community, so that only people who share your opinion on the right way to play are allowed. Gotcha.
For the record, I’ve played maybe a month of shadowlands and a few weeks of BFA. I thought both were utter garbage. I don’t like retail. I like TBC, and I like lfg tools. What would you recommend for me, given I don’t fit neatly into your “doesn’t agree with me, must be retail player” category?
Blizzard will follow the money and do whatever makes them the most, and the playerbase can take it or leave it.
And I’ll go back to working in my garden and remember when the game used to be something I enjoyed playing.
I hope you get to play the game you want. Will you give any thought to the players that are disappointed by “not” getting to play the game they want? I doubt it.
No, I get it. People don’t like the way something is and want it their way. I hope they get it.
However I believe that time has told how it goes. Seriously, look at retail. Look at the type of people who play retail, look at the playstyle on retail - it’s all meshing into “vanilla classic” and “tbc classic” and ultimately, no one is going to be happy with what we all end up with - not entirely.
LFG channel is so fast you cant read it on some servers.
Guilds are full of 100’s of people who pug everything.
The entire leveling process has been mapped out and made into guides for the fastest/most efficient/etc way to level or get attuned or whatever.
The game is known, the end is known, it’s just a race, it’s just something to rush through to get to the part you like.
I truly do not care if people get a whole bunch of changes and QoL stuff put in the game. However, I don’t understand why we want them? Because we already have them in retail. But we’re here because retail sucks. Does this make any sense?
Why is classic even a thing? Why was it wanted? Why did it even get made? Why does it need to be changed to be “better”?
If we hate retail, why do we think that “fixing” classic with bits and pieces from retail is going to make us happy?
It’s a joke, but also true. What does a DPS do immediately after the pull? AOE. What does a DPS do when there’s a bad pull and two packs are coming? AOE harder. What does a DPS do when they pull aggro? AOE while running away from the tank.
Also hunters, unless it’s a specific pull where it makes sense, or you’re MD’ing me, I don’t want you to pull. THANKS GUY
To about the same degree that you do, I’m sure. I just absolutely don’t believe that a tool that facilitates groupmaking, which is still done entirely manually, will change anything about the way you experience the game, despite your protestations. I also heavily resent when people tell me to “go back to retail”, because it is a comment that can only be made with facetious intent.
The “type of people who play retail” are, quite literally, the people who played classic. You’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Let’s stop pigeon-holing people into eyes-over-glasses “retail” players said with a spit, and stop pretending like there is any difference. It’s hard to believe you still think retail people are different from classic people given the massive divergence of classic gameplay trends from what vanilla was at release. Gamers just aren’t the same as a group anymore. It has very little to do with the social systems of the game, and everything to do with the players.
What I don’t like about retail is the gameplay itself, and as a result, I will always champion a version of TBC that involves the things that I think improved over time, which absolutely includes the LFG tool. If you disagree that’s fine, but don’t pretend you’re being anything but tongue-in-cheek facetious when you jump on the “go back to retail” trollop. It’s utter nonsense.
So the people who play retail and enjoy that style and the type of players there are not the same as the people who don’t.
What is your disagreement with me? That I’m wrong for not having fun “the right way?” or because I don’t want classic to be filled with people who enjoy a different style of game and demand that it be changed to suit them when they have the game they want already?
“Go back to retail” isn’t really an insult. It’s like telling someone who comes into a steakhouse asking for a hamburger and a coke to go to Burger King. If it offends you, I don’t know why- you want something that’s already available so have at it?
I don’t understand why we need to “fix” classic. It’s classic. …
People who don’t want to play retail because it’s got a bunch of things they don’t like about it are bad
for being annoyed at people who don’t want to play classic because it has a bunch of things they don’t like about it - while asking for retail QoL changes - to make it more like retail.
Why are people here playing a game they don’t like and getting snotty with people who are here playing a game they DO like
When they tell them that if they want all the retail QoL stuff, then go play retail?
