If that was the solution we would not have a tank shortage. I had the choice to go tank but decided to go healer (playing druid) simply because of the expectations that come from tanking. It seems many people expect tanks to just know everything about the dungeon since “its old content”.
Some people don’t know how to lead, control, or regulate a group of people, which Tanking requires. This isn’t an insult, some folks just can’t lead.
Nope, still the only solution. Everything you wrote just adds to what I said about got to have it or you don’t, but there is no system implementation that will work to entice people to tank.
Well, there is one other solution. But you would have to redesign the whole idea behind a party system in the dungeons and get rid of a tank
Short of fundamentally different gameplay there is no solution that fixes the tank shortage. We have had ~17 years of trying to learn this.
That’s what I said earlier!
Yes, but you’re a gnome!
Lock a spec to your raid ID
Problem solved
I know man but i cant even put a shield on.
And my taunt only works on players
All of the above made the problem less of a problem. The queue in retail is rarely more than 5 minutes these days. “Fix” doesn’t mean “instantly make tanks available always”. Many small incremental improvements make the problem less of a problem.
People searching for tanks to group is getting their tanky butts up to 60. Now in 6 months your argument may be valid, but only a very small minority of people are already 70.
if just a small portion of people that complain about having no tanks would play a tank the problem would be solved.
I have a solution for you!
If retail is better, then why bother with classic?
You can still play outlands content in retail, so you can reroll and relive the magic, with all the modern conveniences.
Leave the classic content alone
idk about small portion. The entirety of the LFG channel for multiple servers is basically 80% LF tank with different people every day every hour.
Solution be nice to your tank.
That dosent solve anything that is also changing a core element of many classes and tbc. The ability to multi spec if you so pick to. Tbc assumes the abilty to respec and you should be able to at the cost of the respec. Droping respecs and allowing duel specs are both extremes of the same issues. The both do not follow the rules of tbc and as such adding either is not us playing tbc. The entire point of classic is to play tbc not tbc with massive changes.
The only way duel spec in classic would work is allowing you to save two specs and charging you the same respec cost to change them while requiring you to be in a rest area. This allows you to quick change talents as a Quailty of life but dosent change the rules of tbc that makes not only the time of going to town and bring them back matter still as in tbc trash respawns are quick and as such a point that must be taken into account. While maintaining the gold cost that is meant to be a factor to prevent people swaping all the time that duel specs removes.
kek
Sure is easy to say things without providing any substance to your point. Your statement means nothing because it isnt true.
Leave classic just as is. Without a change.
I have proved substance quite a few times over my posts in this thread. It is fact that tbc raids are made around a number of tanks healers and dps that change fight to fight this is fact without question. As such can’t be untrue.
Allowing duel specs makes the change between these fights significantly easier this also can’t be debated as anyone with half a brain can see even if you got the people to respec that have the gear being able to push a button to change free is vastly easier than having to constantly pay a significant amount of gold to respec. It is as said further easier to convince someone to maintain two specs when they know there not further going to have to pay each and every time to respec on top of the work to maintain two gear sets.
Trying to claim duel specs dose not change the difficulty of the raids shows you are the one the lacks understand of what your talking about.
This loss of difficulty ruins one of the core elements of tbc raids speaking as someone that did raid at that time both in set guilds and pugging. The largest challenge faced was always being able to get the right comp. those that failed to right off the gate had no chance. This alone causes many guilds to constantly poach members from other guilds to met the required roster needs. Duel specs ruin this by making you need to just recruit a hybrid for the role you mainly need to further cover your one of needs on bosses that need more of a given spec.
Duel spec is NOT a welcome or wanted change to tbc it should NOt be added till wrath where raids where based around more set raid configurations of eg two tanks per boss almost always.
Trying to claim duel specs dose not change the difficulty of the raids shows you are the one the lacks understand of what your talking about.
That’s the jist of your very large comment here.
If that were true people would just hearth/port back and respec. You are the one who doesn’t know what they’re talking about clearly.
DUAL not duel spec is a very welcomed change in TBC
