I mean, I would take having nothing to do but world quests and dungeons over having nothing to do but world quests, dungeons and ap grind.
Sounds like a win to me.

There comes a point where if you think there’s nothing to do at max level, you’re not actually playing the game, you are treating it like a dungeon/raid simulator.
I’ll be questing, doing wPvP with the dragonflying, and RPing.
There finally being an “end point” where I can just work on my honor grinds or go level and alt and not feel like I’m falling behind on my main is going to be nice, and it might actually mean my IRL friends might come back to the game because they have jobs and other hobbies too.
WotLK also didn’t have endless systems rofl.
I’m glad my whining paid off as it normally doesn’t.
The friends I played with soon as Draenor appeared they got bored with it then Legion came and felt overworked with chores for all the classes they play, then BFA they quit because they felt they could never keep up. I just want the basic design we played in WOLK gear up dungeon, gear up heroic dungeons to finally raid then play my other classes if bored with flying at max level.
just like Im sure Ion is a nice enough guy in real life.
Ive worked for great guys over the years…guys I wouldnt let near any of the work I do, lol.
They can be decent and still suck at whatever it is theyre doing.
I had a boss years ago tell me to ‘look busy’ if i ran out of real work to do.
I told him flat out, no. when there is no work left to dofor the day, youre sending me home.
Im NOT running around here like an idiot play acting like Im doing something when Im not.
I aint doing it for Ion or this Jeff guy either.
his troll bait thread should have been deleted but clearly he found some favor with a biased moderator here who dont care about the trolling rules if he agrees with someones post.
Had i done this Id be on a 30 day vacation right now.
Oh no the horror, not having an infinite scaling system what ever will we do /s
geeezus…you mean I can work on alts instead of the eterna-grind???
lol
Infinite level scaling in an MMO is stupid anyway. Okay so you busted your butt to get as powerful as you can get until the next xpac comes and strip it all away.
Don’t think that happens in Diablo 3 with the Paragon system so I hate it less compared to WoW’s version of it.

If they didnt do that, it would be an endless rant in here about ‘the games too easy’ and we all know it. lol.
They already do it every expansion end.
tfw the implication of only two options:
No systems
Bad systems
How could there possibly be anything else?
After you get done leveling, there is nothing to do aside from world quests and dungeons.
PvP (World PvP, Bgs, Arenas, Solo shuffle)
Raids
Mythic +
Reputations
Professions
Alts
Mount/Transmog Collecting
Pet Battles
Mage Tower
As you can see there is a plethora of content to do after leveling. AP grind after AP grind deters casual players (which is the largest block of players that play this game). So logically it would make sense from a game health perspective to roll back the ridiculous grindy systems.
My take isn’t that systems are bad so much as them adding one that only lasts an expansion (or patch) and then gets abandoned; Did it in legion, BFA, Shadowlands and draenor, don’t need to do it again.
That having been said if they added something and supported it in perpetuity? yeah I’d be all about that.

and THAT is the problem with this company.
I dont think anyone here is against currencies and systems. They are part of the game…most all games in one way or another, even board games lol.
Its when they are taken to obnoxious levels and CLEARLY meant as brain dead cereal filler to waste my game time rather than having real content that is compelling and fun.
I hated BFA because of the systems, not because of the content itself. SLs…ok, hated the content. nearly all of it. The systems and crap were just icing on the satan cake with that one, lol.
Drustvar was conclusive proof that blizzard STILL has creative ability. That little girl will forever be tattooed in my mind, lol.
THAT is what I should be remembering about this game. That little girl being so freaky and the witch questline being so memorable that I liiterally held it in till for way longer than I should have instead of just running to the restroom because I was glued to the screen playing thru it. The wife was too.
We still today talk about how fantastic Drustvar was to play thru…even with BFAs systems.
But Ion and crew have had a real problem with ‘bad systems’ and their being so bloated that it overshadows the game…kinda like the garrison was. It was just too much. Too much of my time was there and doing garrison crap instead of being like the Mists farm…light, fun and just a passing part of the expansion Id remember fondly.
The systems are fine in moderation. When contained in GOOD content.
DF thankfully MIGHT actually be showing that Ion has learned something here with that. so far I havent seen anything Im setting my phasers on ‘hate’ over, but with his history here Im still waiting till release to buy the expansion. I want to see that he hasnt slipped anything in last minute, especially given theyve said they are holding some things back for now.
Reputations

Alts
Mount/Transmog Collecting
And those right there are enough for me.
Hopefully DF is kept as it is now for that stuff. I’ll be very happy.
if he jams in the braindead bloated systems last minute and ruins running alts, Ill finish my main as far as I want and quit yet again.
But in terms of the whole ‘afking in mid-air’ that’s me paraphrasing several threads where folks have talked about how Dragon riding is unnecessary, ruining WoW, and a myriad of other things, and when things were boiled down to its core of what folks were complaining about Dragon Riding it was always the whole being able to specifically afk in mid-air, not exploring at a slower pace; just to clear that up
Why do you think it’s good to make it impossible for players to take breaks while playing?
Go play the game if you have beta.
You’ll see pretty quickly that professions are something you’ll be working at for months in order to craft the best loot. The material requirements are steep, the amounts you have to craft aren’t miniscule.
You have something to work towards.
Its when they are taken to obnoxious levels and CLEARLY meant as brain dead cereal filler to waste my game time rather than having real content that is compelling and fun.
This.
The payout for all the chores is not equal. Then you have solid rewards like a spellbook mount to be gatekeep behind an insane challenge tower system that wasn’t even the reward back when the tower was live. It’s a huge middle finger to players especially those of us who play the game for fun not for work.
its like they no comprende that SOME of their player base CANT play 18 hours a day.
