System whiners got their wish

No AP type grinds.

But now, after watching multiple early reviews, I’m hearing a similar theme emerge. After you get done leveling, there is nothing to do aside from world quests and dungeons.

To paraphrase one line that stuck with me, “When 80% of your trailer is just fancy flying, well…”

The features seem almost non existent and I think a month after launch when the casual players have nothing else to do, we’ll see a large drop off in players.

I was trying to remain cautiously optimistic, but the closer we get to launch and the more info that comes out, the more I get the feeling that there isn’t going to be enough there to hold our attention after the initial experience is over.

Different people like different things. I personally was a fan of the endless power grinds of Legion and BFA.

I missed them in SLs and I am sure I will miss them in DF.

There is gonna be plenty to do. A completely revamped crafting system and primal invasions, just off the top of my head. Might be time to try out some dungeons or get into raid.

Honestly though, that’s all we had before too was you hit cap. You do some dungeons. You get some gear. You do some other content. You level an alt. You hang out. You have fun.

Endless grinds can be fun for some people, but they’re not fun for all people. I know my people and I will be pleased if this is the case because it means we can do other things like play alts and just go hang around when we’re not raiding.

You realize there’s more video games out there than WoW right? If you run out of stuff to do, then just leave and come back later.

Those are things that some of us already did in the previous expansions…in addition to the power grinds.

The preach vid I just watched, he mentioned those won’t be in for a while and are going to be used for catch up gear.

Thats exactly what the OP said was going to happen.

You played with the completely new and revamped crafting systems in previous expansions? Nah, fam. There will be plenty to do. Creation catalyst is coming back, you don’t think there will be a grind associated with that?

I don’t want a game that requires me to play endlessly.

I’m looking forward to hopping on and doing the raid once a week with some dungeons and pvp thrown in there too without the worry that I’m falling behind.

there is the dragon aspect system like convenants

One of the best things about Drangonflight along with no Covenants and no Boreghast. Soon Syslemlands will be left behind in the dumpster where it belongs.

DF is basically WoD 2.0 when it comes to endgame…but without a gold making money making machine that took minimal time to milk. Many people are going to get super burned out on all the crafting nonsense and the community will absolutely default to expecting top tier crafts/consumables or bust leaving the select few with the tenacity to stick to grinding all those nonsense crafting levels in an advantage.

“Fancy flying” is cool, but it’ll get tedious since you always have to micromanage it. Hunting down the runes to give you all the perks is accomplishable in a few hours at most. Most you can/should grab while you are in the respective areas leveling.

As usual, the endgame and it’s constant grind is all most people will have to look forward to.

It’s true, and the game worked that way of level, then do dungeons/raids or PvP. TBC was like that. Wrath (golden age?) was like that, etc.

Then for some reason in WoD that normal path got crucified as being “nothing to do” and then since Legion they’ve focused on all sorts of max level questing and progression and things to do.

I don’t necessarily think it has to be some endless grind, but I think it’s important to have some type of end game progression system that exists outside of group instanced content to keep casual and solo players engaged and interested.

bring them on…LoTS of them. The more the better
I’ll take a long list of quests over some brain dead mindless AP grind crap any day.

But the crafting system gives you that right?

Im very curious how better professions will be
Mostly useless currently

Technically, yes, but how will it play out over the course of an expansion? Most professions are rendered obsolete pretty early on.

There’s no magical solution that’s going to make everyone happy.

People who didn’t complain about systems are going to complain there’s no systems.

The player base isn’t The Borg, millions of players with 1 mind who all exactly want the same thing.

Me, I’m loving the idea of just logging in to hang out with guildies, no dailies hanging over my head… I just need to show up on raid night. If I wanna work on my character off raid night, I can do Mythic+s with my guild.

I can also now queue for Rated PvP by myself. No idea why it took so long for this to be a thing… I’m just hoping they don’t let groups queue or it’ll just be premades dominating, similiar to random BGs.
