holy mother of god…did he actually listen this time…or is it another jedi mind trick again? lol
That’s what I’m wondering. It seemed way out of the blue and made no sense. I dont agree with what you said or your title, but… I don’t go two days later and rage about it oddly. LOL
this thread owns because it mentions systems which reminds me that they finally managed to get rid of Jeff Hamilton who was the brainchild of all the systems from the last two expansions.
hilariously he’s gone to the league MMO as a systems designed which means that game is dead on arrival.
Azerite armor, Corruptions, Covenants, Conduits, Shards of Domination, Benthic Gear.
Good god we lost a bad one.
Now THERE is someone you fire with extreme prejudice. lol.
You know a system WoW needs? Housing.
It feels like Evoker may be a big nail in the coffin probably an even bigger nail than anything else. Say what you want about the new class being OP is not a good thing. The new class being incredibly bad is DEFINITELY not a good thing.
The minority whining about lack of grinds are insane individuals anyways.
There was nothing inherently bad about Legion-SL systems.
The only problem was that you were either forced to do them over and over again, they weren’t account bound, or they were just super alt unfriendly. They were also very annoying for anyone who plays more then 1 spec on the same class.
They are called alts, Steve…
Who are you talking to and what’s your point
For real, his work was actually so bad that when he left the company and WoWhead stated what his accomplishments were in the body of the article people accused WoWhead of orchestrating a hit piece.
Then the writer came out and said they just copy and pasted his LinkedIn with his permission.
I mean holy hell LMAO.
lmao…seriously?
lmao…seriously?
Yeah they straight up had to disable comments because the sheer amount of people posting a mix of shreiking at WoWhead for being unreasonable and the other half celebrating the departure of a truly awful system designer.

Jeff might be the nicest person in real life and spend his weekends looking after disabled cats but it doesn’t change the fact every single system has been absolutely dreadful on release (of the last two expansions) and only got saved after a truly deafening amount of player feedback.
I always wondered was he partly responsible for the horrid changes to City of Heroes with enhancement diversification changes?
They eventually admitted it was to bring in invention system or that is what they claim. But I wonder if he had a hand in that too.
With WoW they claimed borrowed power and rental system was necessary to give players something to do. But as we all learned rental systems is not content. Endless grinding is not content.
I was trying to remain cautiously optimistic, but the closer we get to launch and the more info that comes out, the more I get the feeling that there isn’t going to be enough there to hold our attention after the initial experience is over.
I mean, if your attention is stuck around grinding stuff. There’s plenty of games that involve a ton of grinding. You can grind all day. Forget other games, you can go grind out achievements / mounts etc. in this game itself. I heavily doubt that you’ve done all the grinding you could do unless you’re that one guy who has done all the achievements in the game lol
Blizzard is obsessed with competition so I could imagine.
I know my people and I will be pleased if this is the case because it means we can do other things like play alts and just go hang around when we’re not raiding.
Yep.
Remember PvP? I do. It was the my go-to before non-raid nights just got filled up with WoW chores.
Or worst case you take a “break” from the game.
A customer who enjoyed what he was doing and stops playing for a month or 2 while the next patch comes out is more likely to come back than one you proactively push away because you fill up the calendar with boring required tasks that force you to log in nearly every single day.
Forget other games, you can go grind out achievements / mounts etc
I do from time to time, though I’ve fallen off lately. Same with alts. All the people saying roll an alt, I have.
So for example, I would be way more interested in playing my alts if i could take them through torghast and get catch up gear off bosses rather than grind out cipher knowledge for higher ilevel world quest rewards.
Everyone is acting like it has to be one or the other but why can’t there be more than one path? I’m not saying a solo path should end up with M+ gear, but having things to do that isn’t just world quests would make the gameplay more compelling.
For context, I’m approaching this from the perspective of someone who mostly plays solo these days.

haha, op’s original comment is hidden now because we can’t have some real talk about the video game we pay money for on diminishing returns.
