The reverse of this is that those saying “always believe the accusations” are saying that it’s okay to have your entire life ruined because somebody lied about a thing you never did, and if you have no evidence that they lied then you should act like you did the wrong thing even if you didn’t.
The reality is that there is no perfect solution here where everybody gets to be happy and we only punish those who deserve it.
but there are some very good reasons why the cornerstone of any just legal system is “innocent until proven guilty”.
Rename the quest to “Cook’em a Footlong… hold”. It’s a little play on words with foothold, albeit terrible, though to be fair, that’s Blizz’s pun writing there, especially since you have like a zillion quests in WoW.
Exactly. Many of the stories going around are women who are harassed in work settings. Many of them brought it to HR to no avail. How else are they supposed to have any sort of justice besides telling their story on social media?
You’re right. That would be impossible to prove. Which sucks. But it is better for a guilty person to be free than an innocent one to be punished. Not all crime can be proven. As a solution to that, we can’t just believe everyone who accuses someone of a crime. Sometimes they just get away with it.
It’s not hard to believe with everything he says though. I honestly think the man has dementia. Having experienced that first hand that is exactly what it looks and sounds like.
Yeah I’m really feeling for the guy who had a credible rape allegation against him who got a lifetime appointment to be one of the most powerful people in the world.
I feel so bad for that guy.
(Kavanaugh is a scumbag but I had a huge lol at finding out that some of his greatest and most vocal supporters had explicitly blocked their daughters from working with him because he was such a known sleazeball)
No, but in a work setting if it happens and the HR department does nothing, what is the victim supposed to do? Maybe tell their story to get some sort of justice and closure and/or push for change.
There have been 70 of these allegations on multiple people since Friday. This leads me to believe that sadly this is some sort of movement by women, especially with Father’s Day coming up.
I just don’t believe that these allegations are real when it is clear there is an obvious movement agenda at hand instead.
