Of course the method matters. That is the difference between exploiting or not.
So wait, you are telling me that there was an ingame bug relating to an item that most people would have no idea was limited in any way, and because they played the game, collected items to make the key and assumed that multiple uses was ok because the items to make it were right there in the game - that is a suspension level punishment?
Iāve heard that people are currently doing raids and getting huge dps spikes with corrupted gear and the cloak equipped which makes raid bosses die in seconds - so do they get suspended because they are gaining benefits from the boss?
What is this game coming to where such ridiculous and unanticipated mistakes earn you punishment?
So youāre telling me that if you farmed out 10000 nethershards just doing quests and got banned youād be like, āI deserved it?ā
Iām telling you that I have played this game enough to know that if something is āto good to be trueā in this game it probably is and you should stop doing it.
Are you a troll?
Justā¦ Yikes man. Yikes
No, they actually think this way. Itās quite disturbing.
Glad I only looted one, and now Iām not going to loot any! Thanks Blizzard for ruining this patch
But how do you even know if its ātoo good to be trueā? If you are like me, and many other people I suspect, who just dives into the content and figures out how it works along the way, all that type of player would have no idea it wasnāt intended.
I can understand it if someone finds an exploit and takes clear advantage of it because they know (from previous experience) the thing should not work that way. But the damned patch has been out for a day, how would most of us who just blandly play it even know?
It doesnāt make sense. Because you donāt have the whole story. A massive exploit involving infinite memento farming just got fixed. Bunch of people ended up false flagged over it.
Yup. This deserves a blue explanation.
The cape is capped anyway so no real harm.
There was a cape exploit tooā¦ People were getting to rank 7 already when rank 6 was max
Bunch of people ended up false flagged over it.
We assume people got false flagged. Iām not sure Blizzard has earned the benefit of the doubt.
The issue isnāt that it happened really, the issue is that when you ask blizz why you got suspended the basically just give you an automated āF*** you, we arenāt going to explain ourselvesā
I have a feeling that may have been a misinterpretation of how many levels could be gained this week.
Iāve looks at a few places and something that people arenāt mentioning is that theyāre apparently farming a certain type of mob that is spawning too fast to get fragments for the keys
Thereās been 3 major exploits in the last 2 days, and every one of them interacted with the same assets. Itās going to be a messy week bud.
Iām telling you that I have played this game enough to know that if something is āto good to be trueā in this game it probably is and you should stop doing it.
Spending like an hour or so killing mobs to get enough key fragments to open a cache, and then repeating that process a few times just sounds like farming.
Doesnāt seem like an exploit, or too good to be true.
And that isnāt the point. Farming mobs with a fast respawn has been in the game since Vanilla. Whether you go out and farm things around the assault or just sit and farm on one spot, that doesnāt alter the issue here.
Sure, some were. I was on discord with my guys who got suspended for it and they were just flying in a loop around the old legitimate Skyshard farming route from Mists and still copped it so itās not just people sat in one spot farming insta respawns
