Saying that a gold-for-gold transaction is engaging in RMT because it’s downstream from an actual RMT transaction is like saying the person who bought Chinese food legally at a money laundering front is somehow guilty of drug crimes. It’s nonsensical.
I’ll bow out now. This is obviously pointless, we all know the realpolitik is Blizzard controls the system and not much is going to change here.
The problem with bad analogies is that they’re bad.
Nobody bought Chinese food. Someone thought it was safe to “trade” gold in a 100% unsupported transaction while not knowing where the gold came from. You probably wouldn’t have gone to that same restaurant and asked for a currency exchange. Right?
Appeal via a ticket if you feel that you’re innocent. Post in a non-support forum or using the in-game suggestion feature if you feel that the rules should change (making this 100% against the rules).

The first change would be great! No customers means these organized crime groups look for greener pastures. Worked pretty well in D3 when they shut down the AH/RMAH and made gold, and most gear/mats account bound.
Second protects innocent players from themselves. They need to not deal with shady back alley activities.
The only other way to protect people from their decisions…is to shut down ability to move gold at all. That would certainly fix it for good. Account bound gold means gold buying/selling would not be an option. Same has to happen with any valuable mats they would substitute for gold.
That might be a bit draconian yah?
