Suspended for Gold Buying. Traded Retail for Classic Gold

Hey I was just wondering if the stance on this has changed? To be honest, I’ve done trades like this where you trade X amount on retail for Y amount on classic several times over the years and never had an issue. Did it for 60g 3 days ago and after playing for about an hour today after work, got suspended for RMT.

I can see why this would be considered bad, but there are entire sections of WoW Market discord associated with this and I’m fairly certain they are all under the same impression that this is not against TOS.

I’ve submitted my appeal, just feels bad finally getting off work and getting suspended an hour into P2 ):

Considering that this is unsuported i realy dont see this being overturned because one you dont know where the gold is coming from just like gdkp runs and if you have to gimmick the system that wasnt designed for this then you shouldnt be surprised that u got actioned. If blizzard wanted you to trade between retail and classic there would be a official way not 3rd parties.

The stance on this is it is an unsupported transaction, and unfortunately semi buyers beware. There seems to be a lot of gold that might be coming from unreliable sources. You can appeal, that is about all the advise we can offer.

I also would take discord with a grain of salt unless blizzard saus yes its unsuported and up to blizzards discretion.

That in and of itself won’t get you into trouble.

Unsupported if it goes South.

Now, ask yourself, where is the person trading you gold getting it from?

If it’s someone you know, well and good. If it’s not - it’s probably coming from scams, botting and account theft. THAT is very much against the rules.

“Why would that be my problem?”, you may ask. “I’m not the one that scammed/botted/stole accounts.”

But you received gold from illicit sources. That will also get you in trouble.

Yeah makes enough sense. Weird that the person who I traded with is not banned if it was deemed from illicit sources, but it is what it is.

Better luck in P3 for me.

They could be banned u dont know that and blizzard wont reveal it.

I mean he showed me… on the character that traded lol, but sure.

I’m curious, since you are suspended, how exactly did that happen?

Showing me? Discord stream?

Again, just curious, how does that prove anything ingame?

And trolling the most heavily moderated forum we have isn’t wise, Forumdork.

I’m so sorry, I’m not trying to be a douche I’m just really confused what this questioning is. He streamed him playing the game, on the character. I don’t know what else to say…

Ok, you are essentially dealing with a criminal, a scammer, a thief.

What you think you saw - I guarantee you - wasn’t.

Would it surprise you that one of their favorite tricks after a gold delivery - is having another character with an identical look and nearly identical name standing at the delivery spot and ask for the gold back because they forgot to document it - and then log off?

It happens.

When I tell people not to deal with these cretins - I have good reasons and years of experience seeing the tricks they pull.

Fair enough.

Same thing just happened to me, was leveling in SM and disconnected to see i’m suspended for 2 weeks, only thing i did recently was trade gold from living flame to crusader strike. Bummer

Then apeal most issue tickets are being answered in under a day apeals mit take long but if successful blackmark will be removed.

Same issue with me here. All I’ve done is traded wotlk classic gold for sod gold. Frustrating.
