If you saw other replies you d see there isnt just M+ in WoW, theres tons of other content type.
i personally really like surival hunter in pvp settings, and this is coming from a guy that played hunter in vanilla. surival kinda sucked in vanilla honestly and most people played marks or back then too.
surival now is a cool/unique type specā¦ im sure they will mess it up eventually though lol
This.
/10.
I really enjoy the spec, and it honestly just needs some tweaks/move some stuff around to make it a solid spec. Some of the skills they moved to talents really shouldnt have been moved to those talentsā¦cough cough mongoose bite, flanking strike cough cough and fury of the eagle should have made it in to the talents page much like how ret paladins got wake of ash, and frost mages got ebonbolt. Mongoose bite is too iconic to the current spec to be just a talent
You would be happy to know that it seems Survival is picking up in random BGs! I did a random epic BG yesterday and I saw a Survival Hunter. Out of the 12 Hunters in the BG, one went Survival. This is of course an infinite improvement over the usual 0 SV Hunters and irrefutable evidence that SV is a wildly popular spec in casual content.
You mean BM is more popularā¦ you donāt sayā¦ When SL launches without RSV can we get a break for at least a year without your incessant whining?
I donāt think anyone here would disagree that the best course of action is just making a 4th spec.
Simple as that.
actually theres more aff than surv
You can get a break now.
Just leave this forum for a few days or weeks and you got it.
Heck, take that whole year if you so desire.
Reading is fundamentalā¦try it.
Fortunately itās the only choice for rated PvP. Iāve seen like 1 maybe 2 BM hunters over 1600, almost every single one is survival because itās the best spec to PvP with by a mile. Plus, itās fun!
Thatās debatable. But representation doesnāt really matter in PvP in terms of which spec is enjoyable to play. PvP is so hilariously imbalanced that the least fun spec in the game will be played over the most fun spec in the game given only a slightly sufficient gap in viability.
PvE numbers are much more reflective of specs that people āwantā to play. They still arenāt perfect, but since all that must really be balanced is DPS for Hunters, it is much easier to play the least viable spec because the difference in viability is usually very very low.
PvE numbers are reflecting of what people pick up and play for ease of killing bosses. You canāt wring out enjoyment from PvE representation numbers. 2 other hunters in my mainās guild were forced into BM since we needed ranged for Nyalotha. They much prefer Survival, as do I.
How often this happens is not nearly as often as the similar thing in PvP though. PvP balance is much more out of whack, even when considering PvE and ranged DPS stacking.
Basically, if weāre looking at representation in terms of specs/classes people want to play, PvP is always going to be a worse metric than PvE.
Doing a comprehensive change to my character stacking verse corruption along with versitile nav on weapon and using conflict and strife as a minor, memory of lucid dreams as a minor, and resocketing some verse gems I feel pretty damn good in PvP. Hovering around 45% verse (in combat with conflict up) and going to 55% on some procs I feel pretty tanky and do some awesome damage.
This is all only able due to lots of verse corruption though. Without it, I would feel more as a wet noodle as I have before during this expac.
For those in PvP, you should give it a try. Iām confident youāll feel really goodā¦
Granted I have pretty decent gear, it may take a while to get this set up.
No, people donāt play what they want in PvE, they play what parses well so they can clear content, lol. BM is a 4 button miserable spec to play, but people play it because it parses well compared to the other two hunter specs. Want has nothing to do with what people are doing in PvE.
Also my comment was in response to Bepples snide comment about seeing a Survival hunter in a BG as though it was some sort of dunk considering BM is severely nerfed in PvP and is really not there outside of a few die hards and PvEāers coming in to PvP for the first time.
I was looking to stack Gushing before hand but with the nerf I think Iām gonna try out the vers like you mentioned whenever I bother to get around farming echoes on this toon. How do you do into Destro with your vers level, is it more manageable than before?
Definitely more manageable. Helps if you get caught unable to LOS the infernal / Dark Soul, although they are still destro locks, they still hurt. I see many hunters rocking 15% verse with maybe procs up to 18% and my average 20-22% damage reduction vs otherās 9% makes a lot of difference. Iām also doing approx 25% more damage, I have the one gushing right now, but I think thatāll soon get replaced for either a verse proc or get one more 12% verse. I got a lot of farming to do if itās the latter.
What are your thoughts on the verse proc vs 12% overall? Verse proc great defensive since it activates on damage taken and 2 of those at tier 2 would drive up verse by a ton, but do you think itād be worth it over the overall damage gained by 12%?
Vers proc overall seems a bit overrated, and Iād rather the flat 12 imho. Iām sitting at about 23% vers right now in my defensive set so Iām hoping the amps really springboard me up to living a little bit longer. Biggest issue during my climb and why I said āF itā at 2097 was Destros, Rogue, DH, and WW which run rampant in 2ās. It just became unfun to be passively melted by their single target rotation when I was an off-target. Hoping the vers will help.
This is true to some extent, but it is not nearly as true in PvE as PvP. Even back when I played I saw sub-optimal specs and talents. There will almost always be a leading DPS spec for every class, but otherwise these numbers are closer to representing what people want to play than PvP numbers. Again, even if they arenāt perfect, they are still far better than PvP numbers.
