No it didn’t. Secondly, it’s also about more than just appearances. The mechanics and the thematic approach to RSV had very little in common with that of MM.
The sense of how complete a class is, thematically, depends a lot on who you ask.
A “complete theme”, what that means, can vary depending on the overall approach to the design.
Again, they weren’t. You can’t just single out specific parts here when determining variety and how distinguished a particular spec is.
“But, both shoot arrows?” Is not a valid approach to the argument.
Same as how you can’t go and say that:
“Mages or Warlocks have no variety in their specs because they all cast spells”.
There’s more to it than that.
Whether they want to keep working on something or not, we don’t know. But yeah, they themselves caused this by deleting RSV. The gameplay tied to what old RSV was, is currently not available in the game, nothing even remotely close to it is. So, in order to not upset more players(by fully/partially deleting another spec) the best solution is a 4th spec option. Something they should’ve done from the start with Legion. It’s up to them to correct this.
There are many MSV-specific topics on this forum with little-to-no mention about RSV. Feel free to keep discussing in them and not just let them be forgotten/become eligible for necro-posts.
Easy to say if you’re happy with the status quo.
Did you say the same to all those who kept asking for Vanilla back for more than a decade? I guess the persistence payed off for them…
Nah, the threads - they do all have people calling to bring back RSV - the specifics of the topic line be damned.
And trying to talk around them is a bit like trying to have a conversation with a person while two other people shout in your faces: Even if you ignore them, they’re drowning you out.
It’s mad annoying like why would blizz devs work on a spec that keeps getting derailed.
RSV should always just stick to “bring it back as a forth spec” and stop trying to derail MSV forums. If they don’t have constructive criticism and advice on how to better MSV then it’s just useless.
MSV is not a completely useless spec. It’s a high tier pvp spec and needs some tuning and talent changes to make it better in pve. The damage isn’t bad. It’s just more about adding more options so it’s not just one must have cookie cutter build.
MSV has potential in being good in pve with some changes. It’s already great in pvp. It’s not a dead spec
It’s a dead spec man. It’s middle of the pack in damage on live, which means, it is currently viable. Yet no one plays it, because no one in their right mind thinks “yep I’ma play the shooty boy class, so that I can go into the stabby boy spec”. It’s stupid and blizzard messed up big time.
Do I need to go on, or are we done with this stupid narrative that every survival/MSV thread gets derailed by RSV instead of the MSV players letting them die?
You provided three examples from the last week - when last week saw a small flame war here and on the Hunter Discord over the sort of behavior I’m calling out (and none of them have more than two responses, so they unfortunately seemed to have garnered minimal attention) - and one example that is just some guy trolling Survival hunters in general. But one of your examples is indication that I am wrong in asserting 100% of MSV threads get derailed by the shrieking of the RSV crowd.
I’ll concede that point, and drop the hyperbole. I shouldn’t have said all threads. I’ll modify it to most threads.
However, you haven’t address my concerns regarding “just ignore it” being an ineffective response. I mean, it works just fine against the specific person posting the RSV comment - but I maintain the barrage of comments still serve to bury the discussion.
Okay. You’re missing my point, and you’re doing it on purpose. At this point, I gotta slot you in with the exact sort of person you advocate I ignore. And I’ll go ahead and take your advice.
It’s not standby boi tho, I guess more people are just not comfortable jumping into a new play set.
Harpooning around throwing Bombs using traps and being able to maintain dps while doing mechanics is fun.
Main issue is due to people having to get different sets of gear per spec u might as well just go full melee or full ranged. If each class only needed one set of gear odd balls like outlaw and surivial would be more popular
Survival has become more entertaining outside the game than in. It is more fun to watch Blizzard not know what to do with it than what effect it has ingame.
But it is sort of becoming like some experimental aircraft contract. How much more investment is prudent before you just call it a wash and shut it down.
It is mostly due to bad word of mouth that whenever someone asks in game about sv hunter a billion answers show up hwo they are useless and terrible (even though the people saying this never played sv themselves) as well as many popular youtubers “reviewing” the spec and then calling it bad even though in the gameplay they clearly show how they got no idea wtf they are doing! Looking at you belular you donkey!
Oh here we go. Stop trying to shift the blame to the players. None of us are wow devs, if you are upset about your spec then vent your frustrations at the individuals that designed it.
