I feel so much better now.
Thank you!
Ythisens you’re the best. Thank you my dude. Should be a Blizz emoji. I’d spam it.
Except you get a lot more information when you hear something. We have to read it here with no voice or facial clues to help figure out what people are saying. That’s hy I prefer to not say one thing and mean another. Things also get lost in translation cuz we’re all from different places.
Yup, like when they say “Transmog won’t exist” or “We will not be balancing classes EVER” or even “We will never have an lfr/new content in classic ever”…and people hear “We are in the process of bringing LFR/Transmog/and class balance to classic as we speak”.
I can think of a couple yesterday I ran into yesterday that still think these things are up for grabs. I think people just hear what they want to hear and then REALLY try to stretch those words to fit something that resembles what they want.
I’m with you. I know what this is going to be. I’ve been trying to convince others but they refuse to listen. They are going to be in for a rude awakening. Blizz has said time and again vanilla is vanilla. As close and authentic as possible.
Every time I see or hear the word vanilla now, I think about that ice cream bit JAB did at the announcement and I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.
they already announced the classic patch and it definitely had pvp gear. Classic isn’t starting at the beginning of vanilla. Its starting quite a ways in.

Yes the patch in which they are having the foundation of classic it had pvp gear, but that doesn’t mean they are starting WoW at patch 1.12.
Its starting quite a ways in.
No no no it’s not. They are opening content in stages. The first stage being Ony/MC/DM and such. If they were starting the game at 1.12 then EVERYTHING would be open. Nax, BWL, ZG, PvP and all. They are using 1.12 as the foundation as in things like versions of classes and versions of areas of the game will be 1.12 like.
The stage they are starting with was a version of vanilla that didn’t have pvp gear. When they are opening up pvp gear it will be at a point in vanilla where it would have been opened up.
Part of the reason to delay pvp gear SS well is likely because they don’t want to have to update the gear as new raid tiers come out, like they did in OG vanilla…
The rank 10 blue set ended up being basically on par with bwl gear by the end of vanilla… So releasing it in the mc tier would be pretty nuts, unless they had the old versions and updated as we went along.
That being said, I’m not personally a fan of gating bgs in general that long for classic, but it is what it is.
Considering what was said about things like achievements and transmoq not being in the data was in reference to building a prototype. At not point did they say they were not adding them (in that watercooler)
Which is my point. Devs say “the data doesn’t exist” people hear “it will never be added” two totally different statements
True. I still don’t believe it will be in though. Look at the design philosophy slide in the blizzcon classic panel. It doesn’t say transmog but it says no on a lot of other things. I don’t know why they would say no to all those others and not transmog. I hope we get an update soon that puts a lot of things to rest. Things they can easily give yes/no answers to. IE: Transmog yes or no. I think I know what the answer is but it will get rid of a lot of people saying it could be.
Lots of things to infer. Nothing wrong with that. It is when we repeats the statements and add in what we infer as if it is fact is when the chaos ensues.
That and the fact that Blizzard is known for changing their mind. It’s not easy to predict how Classic will look 2 years from now.
I mean, they can add it in 2 years from now… Obviously I can’t speak for others who have been very vocal about it but I will walk away that second. Things like transmog add an element to pvp. It helps to know what gear someone is wearing on sight. Blizzard could easily say we will never add transmog to classic. Sure they could change their minds but chaos would ensue.
PvP still happens in BfA in spite of transmog. The amount of time one needs to identify all the gear someone is wearing puts them in the position that a geared player would negate all the advantages of knowing the gear.
That’s running off in the wrong direction though. The point is, no matter what is said by the devs, the forums will translate it to support their own motives.
Until we have clients installed.
I am excited to hear a concrete answer on guild banks.
“We’ve removed their capacity to feel pain so now we need to find away to match or surpass the rate of hamster death by fatigue with the rate of hamster creation/maturation,”
BfA pvp doesn’t matter nearly as much as vanilla. In Vanilla PVE gear could wreck someone in PVP.
I don’t know whether to be happy or sad for you… because I know what the answer will be.
The Vanilla pservers have the correct 150% baseline spell crit bonus, whereas the Classic Demo had 200% baseline (a Mists of Pandaria change). Vanilla Pservers also don’t have bizarrely high mana/health regen, functioning summon stones, wrong spell animations, +crit “of the Tiger” greens, and a host of other problems that the Demo had.
At the moment, it’s the Vanilla pservers that are more authentic, and official Classic has a lot of improvement left to go.
The devs never warned anyone that sharding would be in the Classic Demo; it had to be discovered by players and streamers. When confronted about sharding, they gave a bizarre misdirection answer that implied players were confusing sharding with phasing and CRZ (they weren’t, people know what sharding is), and then left it open-ended as to how much it would be used at launch time (which opens another can of worms).
No one expected loot trading either…
We need clarity and communication, and for them to be forthright with a beta that allows for testing and feedback.
Vanilla WoW is huge, and it is a dramatically different game than WoW today. Many little things have been forgotten, and there are many things that need testing.
