Surprised we have not had any news

no but they did say they don;t like the high warlord/grand marshal gear grind which forced people to account share and unhealthy lifestyles
(no one actually got those titles without account sharing/win trading except the very few who made very POOR lifestyle choices.)

my guess is they will keep the title in the same way but change the gear to some other kind of grind like exalted with all battlegrounds or something and retuning the rep gains to be meaningful but not just as grindy as HW/GM.

Which would not be a bad thing. Blizzard is going to change what they feel would be for the better. People need to dial back on what they believe they deserve.

Go ahead and give proof of that claim.

umm all the people blizzard banned for account sharing? they did it, but blizzard has the FULL list

if people are account sharing to pvp 24/7 that means someone who is doing it solo HAS to be cheating/cheesing or do very unhealthy lifestyle choices.

Ok, so they never said that. Just wanted to point that out.

In any event, they also didn’t like the efforts people had to through to form groups, or the time travelling to dungeons. Lfr and lfd fixed these things. And a thousand other things that were changed for one reason or another. And none of them have anything to do with what will be in Classic.

taking 30m minutes to form a group is not a unhealthy lifestyle the game is encouraging.

having a grind where you need to pvp almost every waking hour to gain any progress is encouraging a UNHEALTHY lifestyle.

MMOs in general do this, if you aren’t able to regulate yourself in WoW you are going to do it in another form.

I am just stoked that we get confirmation that WORK IS HAPPENING.

My biggest fear is that I am sitting here like a kid getting excited for Xmas only to have Blizz say “so yeah… dad lost his job and Santa isn’t coming”.

I am in full nerd mode planning out toons and gear I want to get… I just want to know that someday I will be able to do it all.

ok your right i shouldn’t of used the word force, but encouraged

How did that pan out for modern retail?
Aren’t all changes what they thought were for the better?

I never cared enough to try for anything higher than I naturally earned through normal play, but wasn’t the system set up as pure competition between players? People had to put in unhealthy hours because some others chose to put in unhealthy hours. Blizzard neither forced nor encouraged anything beyond pure competition. PLAYERS made the ladder what it was.

If I offered to award a prize to someone who could walk the furthest, am I encouraging someone to die of exhaustion, or am I just enabling people to compete?

Still the most successful MMO By far, so I am gonna say it worked out really good actually.

I was laughing at “unhealthy lifestyles”

Yes Ion announced it

although he could always backtrack

to be more specific, he said they will only add pvp gear when the raid gear is equivalent, regardless of it not being ‘true to classic’

I hope he announces a tournament realm!

So that would not be removing gear, it would be taking a more modern approach like retail to PVP gear.

well it is ‘removed’ from any patch that doesn’t have equivalent raid gear - which is pretty messed up as that pvp gear is a big driver for many people wanting to play classic

also not sure how many patches til they were equivalent, but it’s gonna be some time. Naxx was better than the pvp gear. So a patch or two before Naxx.

I hope we can get a live community QA at some point. I know that would be total chaos, but I have one very minor and stupid question that will not get picked for an answer in any other format.

No… they aren’t releasing the pvp system with titles and gear until it is at a certain point of ‘progress’ where it was introduced in vanilla.

Vanilla wasn’t introduced with pvp gear or the pvp system at all.
