So the great thing about add ons, since you dislike them so much you don’t have to use them !!
Win win for everyone.

I played on dial up (early 2004) / dsl late 2005
Was about the same time I was playing Guild Wars 1 =P
And the matrix online beta ha ha.
Yeah here is the thing though.
If you all are using them to gain a very clear advantage over other people who aren’t. I have an issue with that.
Just because you are lazy doesn’t mean we all are.
I get some added much needed features, but a lot of them didn’t. A lot of them were borderline cheating by your own admission.
Players are going to feel pressured to get these addons and completely negate the experience of blindly fumbling through quests for 3 hours straight, because everyone else has quest addons with big pointers telling them exactly where everything is.
Everyone can download them, there is no advantage.
But I thought you wanted the game to be hard?
The advantage lies in knowledge here. Those that know about the addons and those that don’t.
Those that trust people are playing legit will be the first to get scammed by people that seem to think “huh huh you didn’t know about that? sucks to be you, we all do it”
It isn’t fair, in the slightest for a “classic” launch day.
I agree but will not support because it’s a content creator.
The game needs to be hard for all of us.
Not just for those that want to play it right.
shiver
I’m thinking about honestly ducking out of classic now if it is going to be ridden with addon aids from bfa.
It totally destroys the entire point.
You really seem obsessed with how other people play.
There’s a difference between hard and pointless inconvenience, hence addons.
No it doesn’t. Games don’t have to be “hard” to be fun.
Then why do you want classic then? The whole point was for it to be hard and inconveniencing compared to retail.
The original quests.
The pre-Cata world.
No. The whole point of Classic is to bring back the pre-Cata world, and the classes and places people remember.
If you want to play it because you think it was “hard” (protip: it was never “hard”), then that’s good for you.
Not everyone else is you.
I just want to point out to the people making a difficulty argument related to addons:
Awareness of certain things can increase because of timers and visibility of raid frames may be better, but the actual mechanics are the same
Vanilla addons actually greatly decreased the difficulty of many mechanics in a way that the modern API cannot, so making a difficulty argument based on addons is a really weak argument to make given that if you wanted an authentic vanilla experience, we’d actually need more powerful addons, not less IE: normal humans will never be able to decurse as fast as a raid group full of multiple people mashing a smart decurse button in vanilla
I made a thread on addons, I don’t want to pollute this one.
Add your opinion there.
No the whole point is for me to be able to do the quests and dungeons capped at 60 that I can’t do in retail any more.
I am going to do that in the most enjoyable way possible and that includes using add ons.
Just because you have some masochistic desire to suffer doesn’t mean other people do.
I made a thread on addons, I don’t want to pollute this thread. If you have pro whatever for them post it there, it is the only one in the forums.
So, you want an echo-chamber.
Not going to happen.
The addon that is referenced in the OP is a good one, and I may just go donate to the creator of it because he/she does good work.
