Support for Covenant Restrictions

The point is a lot of people enjoy min/maxing, it’s not about needing it.

And no if you ignore the min/max options you won’t be mathematicly better at your spec, it will mean that you will have to work harder. It doesn’t make you more skillfull to be the best enhancement shaman if enhancement shaman are trash and that anyone playing a decent class and parsing 60 can beat your max parse.

The problem is, what then for those people that need it because some situations will (and you keep saying it won’t but many times a boss required certain level of dps superior to 80/100)? You’re willfully just making their lives worse for wanting to play at the max level. For no arbitrary reason that you don’t like that playstyle. Spite and hate always.

Alts are usually characters of different classes.

This influences people to make multiple characters of the same class.

Really? I’ll alt out every spec that I find worthwhile. Characters who stick to one thing get better at what they do

Every player I’ve ever met plays other specs on the same character. They play different classes on other characters.

I think he did during one of his interviews.

But without more freedom to change, this seems like the only option for many players.

Well there’s time to tidy it up and polish it - but it can still be disrespectful and punitive afterwards.

I wonder how bad simming is going to be with the soulbind system?

A lot easier than corruption.

You sure about that?

3 soul bind people, and how many conduits/tree combinations plus the gear/secondary stats?

about 10 pieces of gear with 20+ corruptions possible?

I guess it’s about the number of combinations.

You’re going to hit the limit pretty quick if you select up to 9 applied corruptions with 20 possible corruptions to choose from.

In most cases - that’s never done since people already know a good basis for what corruptions make sense.

and the same will be done with soulbinds. Some profile will show how each combinations of soulbinds scale with your spec. We will find out really soon which combination is good then we will only sim those.

Seems like that takes away a lot of the choice.

Making a logical choice is not a bad choice or no choice, that’s just called pragmatism.

The choice is still there. Look how many forum posts there are saying people will choose covenant based on aesthetics.

Yeah. And I personally cannot wait for all the threads in which people will complain about not getting invited to M+, PvP or raids because they have chosen the wrong covenant for this section.

No it isn’t. People refer to choice in terms of being able to make choices throughout an expansion as they change types of content, specs, roles, etc.

The restrictions take away a LOT of those potential choices for players that enjoy making them.

Yes, my position is that having more choices is good, and that the people who want to choose aesthetics would still be able to do that.

removing the covenant/conduit restrictions would give players more choices.

Intentional practice makes players better at what they do - this would apply to a player using multiple specs/roles on a single character.
