Support for Covenant Restrictions

the 50 gold.

I would say this is false.

I would say the average roleplayer hates grinds just as much as the next person if not more so because the more time we spend doing stupid grinds less time we have to actually engage roleplaying in game.

Should just scrap it all if its gonna displease so many people , just keep the armor sets and no new abilities whatsoever . No hard choice to make when there isnt any.

That’s a gameplay mechanic that existed years ago. Like in 2004 that was an accepted mechanic.

Wow has changed too much to go back to charging for that type of stuff.

And it’s changed too much to have make people lock in stuff aside from their class. The ship has sailed so to speak.

Or just make them freely swappable.

I want them to have an unskippable cutscene where the leader of the covenant talks trash to you for leaving.

Then NPCs react poorly when you leave.

Then if you join a covenant a second time. They go “Did you enjoy your time with those losers over at X covenant? We knew you’d be back”.

They could make it fun and add flavor for those who switch. I mean we are maw walkers, so all the covenants want us. If we leave and then come back, I think they’ll still take us.

Yes there many solutions and compromise that people have talked about.

Just make covenants swappable, which I feel might be going too far.

make the abilities only swappable, but keep covenants locked is one of the easiest compromise.

make covenants earnable with rep grinds or mage tower type of challenge.

To be honest the covenants should be the base abilities , the armor and the soul binds .

Let class abilities be talents and things like the soul binds can adapt depending on what talent is picked.

That would be great for RP players.

But for people who just like playing content and don’t care for RP - that does nothing but waste their time.

I think having all of that - with the option to skip makes sense.

The choice is pretty clear. Doot Doot skelly.

Oh that was meant as a joke. There are no unskippable cutscenes in wow right?

I’m not sure tbh - I wouldn’t be surprised if there were.

But like I said - for RPers, the whole scenario you described would be cool.

Great. I’m not a min/maxer, and I think covenant abilities should be a new talent row. So they wouldn’t be designing the game around them, they would be designing a game that doesn’t feel punishing to anyone trying to enjoy content and covenants.

Probably the person that needs to get better at his class should focus on being better at said class instead of rerolling expecting to get carried by playing FotM

WoW has never been a hard game, being good at a class is easy, now if you reroll to Fotm hoping you ll “win” and copy what a site tells you, of course you are gonna be a terrible player

The very fact of fotm and min maxing existing causes players to remain bad, like seeing trash demon hunters in m+

I’m in the same boat.

Not even just heroic progression - non world first raiders and people that push in arena will likely find the ability to switch very useful.

We’re talking about choosing a covenant, not refilling.

The rest of what you wrote is just you being the elitist you accuse everyone else of being.

Would be a shame to use a toaster to toast toast or to learn from other people that already have the experience or expertise on a subject. Ralph is basicly an hipster elitist, anyone not boiling his toasts is wrong.

We are talking about players getting better, you suggest they play FotM and instead of improving their understanding of a class and spec they should instead play whatever min max option exist.

I am saying that instead they should ignore the min max option, play whatever they enjoy and they will do better at any spec.

Because like I said, mythic raiding requires all dps to do 80 dps and to do mechanics, the 100 dps of a fotm/minmaxer is not needed if everyone knows their class and can achieve 80 or above.

The only people who genuinely need min max are world first players or people who carry others, nobody else.

They just want people to have multiple alts. What Blizzard’s producers don’t understand is that people pick a main and tend to identify with it to the point of not having fun on alts.

Only the maximum tryhards will have 4 of each class to be able to use the best covenant at all situations even though they dont need it for mythic raiding or any ingame activity outside of world first.

I ll always main one character I identify and enjoy, and my covenant choice will be based on what I find more fitting with me.

And most likely going maldraxxus, even though mindgames sounds pretty fun the cloth mog of necrolords on male pandas just looks UwU

It is going to be pretty funny when you see people “WTF HOW DARE YOU PLAY AND DO HIGH CONTENT WITHOUT VENTHYR”
Literally had someone go wtf am I playing an spriest xD
