Sulfuras Allies abuse mass report to auto ban Scarab Lords

why is that even a thing? where if enough people report you itll just ban you automatically? no wonder its getting abused. dont like someone? just get all your friends to report them.

I play on sulfuras and it’s pretty toxic right now.

I’m sure every server is experiencing the same stuff but sulfuras def seems a bit extra on ally side.

At this point guilds are more or less actively attempting to sabotage other people’s chances, regardless of their own progress. It’s quite comical to say the least.

It’s not happening. If they did it to one guy, why didn’t they do it to other people in the same guild?

Players can’t suspend or ban other players with reports.

I don’t know what video you are talking about. The one i saw was on my server… it was a person who i happen to know and spoke to about this very incident… he was 7 day banned by mass reports of a bunch of other people i also know personally. It was talked about in the server discord quite openly. We all know it works because unless a GM was randomly watching this particular person at that exact moment then the speed in which he was banned means it was triggered by the reports. Again, i don’t care what anyone says, i know what i saw.

Players can not ban or suspend other players with right-click reports.

Except that they can…blizzard might lift it on review, but it functions 100% like the auto squelch.

What OP forgot to mention is that Amnesty was openly colluding with Grizzly(the guild that used mass reports) and other alliance guilds to grief their own faction.

Amnesty have become pariahs and hated by most people on Horde after they openly griefed their own faction for weeks to help Grizzly as part of their so-called coalition. Amnesty deserved to get stabbed in the back by Grizzly like that and it’s time for you kids to transfer off the server because you will forever be hated outcasts now.

Yea, sorry to break it to you but check out the thread on reddit. There is ample video proof and comments from the guild that mass-reported that implicate them, badly.

To all of the people saying mass report doesn’t work, yeah…just like people don’t get auto banned for farming linen. RIGHHHTTTTTT.

There is a video of someone being banned and some discord messages saying: “wow he actually got banned”. It proves nothing.

Theoretically, if the guy had said a curse word in chat, people have the right to report him for it, and he could be banned for it, as it’s against the rules. Now, people most likely wouldn’t report someone for cursing in Stormwind, but since they have an incentive to do so during the war effort, they are more likely to. This is what seems to have happened in my experience.

There is no automated ban. The only automation is a squelch. This has been confirmed by Blizzard CMs multiple times. If there were, we would have heard these complaints from the report feature’s inception, but people only ever complained about automated squelches.

Blizzard, this is unacceptable.

Biggest lie in anime history. Right next to “This planet will explode in 5 minutes.”

I wonder how much cross faction collusion there was going on your server and how much your guild was taking part in it. I hope Blizzard takes there time on this and you guys miss out on your mount.

If GM’s don’t check the logs for whoever reported the guy, and dish at least 3 week ban to each individual, honestly, no respect for them. Abusing a function that’s meant to keep the game safe and clean should be bannable, no discussion.

You DO hear the complaints…they just get buried…there are more than a few people on this very thread telling you the truth but you just don’t want to hear it. I have seen several threads pop up complaining of this very thing.

People who get scarab lord have been “grinding” the reputation across their server since launch. Only 1 guy I know is getting it, and he’s nice and always helpful, so he has lot of people helping him.

Don’t be salty just because no one likes you enough to help you get it. Calling everyone scum when only few top guilds collude is scummy on it’s own.

Yeah that’s very unfortunate. I’d say this rests more on Blizzard’s reputation, which could use some plus points.

So cursing, which is against the EULA, doesn’t get you a 7-day ban, but simply receiving enough reports does? Yeah, you’ve seemed to settle on whatever narrative you want. You are welcomed to believe whatever false conspiracies you want.
