We tried this with “the war on drugs”, and it didnt work.
So I am not sure thats a good analogy. Since we already know that wont work.

Case in point. Y’all just stopped calling it a problem because it’s legal now.
Ew no. Dragon doggos! Drakonid that are cute doggo faces!
I mean, 2e Kobolds were little dog guys with scales.
They haven’t been making good analogies this entire thread.
It didn’t work? Huh.
Weird how for 20 years it was kept in check and now that we stopped doing it California is absolutely overrun by drug users walking around in the streets moaning like zombies.
I guess making it unpoliced and basically legal worked, you got me. I concede.
I don’t know what this is. ![]()

It was never “kept in check”
And Florida, GA, etc is over run with methamphetamine, despite it being illegal
Ironically, we do have an addictive substance legalized. And we have seen its use go down.
Nicotine/Cigs.
Okay, I dunno if you’ve ever been to a debate class but when you say “They haven’t been making good analogies” you usually want to back that up with a rebuttal that continues the debate and adds to the discussion.
How are they not good analogies?
They’re just bad because you say they’re bad? That’s it?
That’s your rebuttal? That’s your argument?
“You’re wrong.”
Dungeons and Dragons.
Nicotine and cigarettes reducing in popularity is due to alternatives. We have people absolutely mindblastingly addicted to ZYN now.
We’re getting way off track though we’re talking about WoW Tokens.
This is exactly why the wow token was created. As stated by many in this thread the RMT folks just roll new accounts the second one gets banned. I have played since vanilla. Pre wow token was not better. The wow token did not solve the issue, but it definitely is not contributing to the issue. Removing the wow token is not going to have any positive effect on RMT.
Your strawman argument about coca-cola is not in any way an actual reply to my question. It’s a ridiculous strawman. Again explain how removal of the wow token fixes RMT?
If you’d ever been to a debate class, you’d know that bad faith actors are quickly recognized and removed from the entire environment.
You don’t waste proper debate etiquette on bad faith actors.
Oh… that’s the disconnect. I thought you meant WoW Kobolds and I was internally screaming. ![]()
Don’t bring me into this. It’s not my fault that someone randomly decided eating bath salts was a brilliant plan.
The heat does things to people okay.
Ok. I did.
The War on Drugs failed in every way possible. Possibly because it was never meant to succeed. It targeted a certain demographic that coincided with the privatizations of prisons.
The price of drugs on the streets have remained low, while usage widespread.
Furthermore, you implied legalizing something addictive will only increase its usage. Despite the fact cigs have had usage lowered.
The point of the war on drugs was to increase the street price of drugs (so fewer would be able to buy it) and make its usage less. This actually only happened with legalized addictive items. Like Nicotine.
Every person that moved on from nicotine/cigarettes didn’t go to ZYN.
Yes, that is what happens when you use horribly analogies.
You asked me to go off track.
That whole issue is heartbreaking. Without getting into legality or side lining into the issue, I sincerely pray for the people who are lost to it.
If it didn’t solve the issue it was introduced to solve, then why does it need to continue existing? If it wasn’t better before and it isn’t better now, why is it still there?
All it serves to do is encourage card-swiping so daddy Blizzard gets more bucks and you get gold. You yourself said it was originally introduced to combat RMT and you just now here said it has failed at that.
If I bought a rubber duck that costs 20 bucks a month to keep and it’s supposed to keep badgers out of my house, and it gets eaten by a badger, I’m not gonna pay another 20 bucks to keep the duck around, it didn’t do its job. I also wouldn’t continue encouraging people to donate money to me to keep the duck around.
We also don’t need drugs to think throwing a live alligator into a Wendy’s drive thru window is a good idea.
