All you have to do is watch pikaboo. Go to twitch. Watch his vods. How is this balanced. He even laughs about it himself while each of his games lasts 5-10 seconds as he kills anything he opens on before they can press an ability. Ive watched him play 50+ arenas in a row with all of them having the same outcome.

that’s pretty tame, i got hit by a 10k+ reprimand into a shadow strike into like a 8k evis. One shot me from 95% in a Dr’d cheapshot.
I am hoping the stam on higher ilvl gear will let me survive the opener. ATM this is boring ,every game its sub rogue. There is not alot of counter play.
Smoke bomb so you cannot CC, that duel ability so you cannot peel or help your ally. They just cheapshot and if they dont trinket they kill them and if they do trinket its into either another cheapshot or a full kidney. If they do survive for 3 seconds they can evasion or cloak and are unpeelable.
The notable thing about my screen shot though is that it’s all 1 global from stealth. 20k damage from one button press, no set up required.
Rogues were already too strong, but now that they have Mark of the Master Assassin (which was disabled for instanced PvP in Legion), there is nothing you can do except die.
I play with a elemental shaman, We have big trouble as he cant really do much against a rogue opener and i cannot peel a good rogue due to cloak\smoke bomb or Duel. Thats not even including the instant CC they have.
Hope something gets changed. I dont want sub to be bad, but this is just boring. Sub/spriest is everywhere in the skirms and i am sure it will be the same in arena.
Clearly Wound Poison is overpowered. 46 damage with 12 Overkill?!?! MADNESS!!!

Looking at this, all they have to do is nerf Drest trinket and nerf the Echoing Reprimand conduit which boosts its damage by 50%.
Will reduce the damage you took here by like at least 6k-8k.
tbh i’d be okay if they only thing they did was nerf the trinket, like, to uselessness. There should be no reason it’s usable in the next expansion. That alone would have given me time to react.
I mean I probably would have still lost because Pikaboo is just a better player than me, but at least I coulda freakin tried to fight back lol.

After the initial burst, sub damage drops. I’m not looking to have rogues be gutted here.
They do not need to do anything with the trinkets. The trinkets are not the issue at all. They need to nerf their damage by at least 50%. If people are dying in essentially one global, then the overall damage is just way too high.

The trinket is a huge issue, it’s why he was able to drop me in only 1 GCD, without it he’d have to evis or something else.
Admittedly the damage is still high, but not all in 1 GCD
It’s everything stacked on top of everything that’s the issue. All the CDs + Kyrian Ability + trinket.
I know serrated bone spike was broken for most of the beta and nerfed into the ground(I still picked Necrolord…prolly cause I’m a masochist) but the fact Echoing Reprimand went live with the dmg it can do is pretty hilarious.
I think the Covenant ability is fine on it’s own, it’s the conduit that buffs the damage as well as guarenteed crit from Symbols of Death that makes it over the top.
Removing either of those functuonalities would make it far more manageable.
Yeah if it was on it’s own without the bonus dmg from CDs it wouldn’t hit nearly as hard. Honestly the conduit should be changed so it isn’t a straight dmg buff as well, maybe have it anima charge the 5th combo point as well and provide a dmg bonus to the anima charged finisher or something to actually get people to use the skill kind of how it was envisioned.
I get Covenant ability/soulbinds sim pretty close together for PvE but the disparity in the abilities and utility skills in PvP is pretty glaring…but this wouldn’t be a modern WoW expansion without PvP balance being an afterthought ![]()
Agreed, they could also give it a PvP specific nerf as they have done to PvE trinkets for example.

There is more than enough data alone just looking at the % of top PvP players covenant choices to know how strong Kyrian Sub Rogue is in PvP.
PvE play what you want, high end PvP it’s pretty much a requirement and that’s not even taking into consideration how strong the potion is going to be in Arenas.
It’s not a matter of if it gets a nerf(specific to PvP or not), it’s a matter of when.
