Strange mod activity

Just got a mssg that one of my posts was removed, from a thread that was deleted a few hours ago…
What was the purpose of removing a post from a nonexistent thread?
Post wasn’t even in violation of any rules.

Anyways, just wanted to put this up and maybe a mod can answer as to the reasoning.

"Do not post about locked or deleted threads.

Posts that are moderated have a reason behind the moderation. It’s up to you to read the forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what you did wrong, learn from your mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules.

There is also cool down period we institute during times of high forum traffic. If you are violating policy during one of these times due to frustration, you will be given a three-hour cool down suspension. This does not get logged on your record and is simply in place to keep the forums readable and civil. Serious violations will still have the appropriate action taken against them as documented in the Code of Conduct, and we do keep track of these cool down periods separately—if one is found to be repeatedly violating policy, appropriate action will be taken."

It’s in the past. Let sleeping logs hide.

My notification on here are super slow today.
Like 2 or so hours delayed.

Might be the same affected you.

Same. I keep getting notifications about replies from 2h ago.

I’ve been having issues since last week. It’ll notify me, I’ll check it then notify me again later. It’s odd.

This

I don’t think I have ever seen the “mods” actually post anything. Only the occasional posts from Community Managers or Customer Support and I doubt they do any modding themselves

Mods do not post here. No one will answer you.

But yes, notifications are messed up and super slow lately. So that’s the more likely reason.

They can do whatever they want

Also as others said, sometimes notifications are real janky

It is a 100% correct post. The thread may very well end up removed. Both for posting about moderated content, and for asking for a Blue post. That is something else we are not allowed to do.

What in the world…

It’s not useless nor humorless, let alone weird, I just posted the forums guidelines

You should read it sometime

Yes, how dare you provide information when someone asked a question.

You got a warning? That’s weird

When my post(s) disappear from a 404’ed thread I just don’t see anything, both the thread and my post simply disappear as if they never existed

This is no guarantee of safety.

If they get a forum suspension they will get an email with at least one post example. If they do not get a penalty, and the thread is just locked, removed, etc - then it does nothing to them.

The forum Code of Conduct has lots of room for interpretation, and only Blizz gets to decide how they interpret it.

Yes, in my case I got an example and I immediately appealed it and my suspension was overturned.

Many moons ago in a serious thread outside GD, a post of mine was deleted. Pretty obvious they afford us great liberty in here. Usually, the whole thread gets 404 into oblivion for GD rather than cleaned up.

But I wouldn’t try being funny or sarcastic in CS, tech, or in announcement threads. Easier to mark for deletion posts that are derivative in serious threads/help forums because being off topic is easy to spot where GD is ultra vague and we’re rarely not be sarcastic to begin with

It was just a joke. He comes in and instead of trying to entertain the guy’s point, just pastes a bunch of text in lol. Very not fun.

Also, he’s not even posting about aything in particular. He’s asking why a post was removed from an already deleted thread. Obviously a mod is not going to respond but flagging it seems ridiculous.
