Strange mod activity

Sometimes threads get removed, where the poster of the thread didn’t do anything wrong and doesn’t get any kind of action, but the thread itself devolved into something unproductive and the best action was to remove it. So unless there was a forum action as well, then it likely fell into this category.

If there was a forum action in addition to it, then the post actually violated the code of conduct.

I know what section it’s in reference too… it wasn’t that.

I got similar thingies in my notification thingy.

There is a possibility it violated the code. Plenty of cases where people get action but didn’t actually violate. Like all those guys in the D4 forums where the mod told them in the ticket that their posts did not violate the rules, they just personally disliked it them talking about people getting laid off.

Mods don’t answer in threads, but perhaps make an appeal through your e-mail if you feel it was unjust.

My notifications have been slow for at least a couple of weeks. Have the time I don’t know someone replied to me, until after I scroll down again to my post, because I wanted to read what was being said after the person I responded to…

They allowed a general discussion of the layoffs on the forums overall. People who were celebrating job losses, calling for more people to be fired, denigrating the staff, etc. Those folks might have seen a vacation. That sort of thing is not constructive or appropriate.

Same, keep coming in. No emails or anything, though.

LOL!!!

My OP was flagged…
Not surprised. Since it was hurt fee fee’s that likely got my other post flagged and removed.
I didn’t read any of the replies here, since it’ll be redundant anyways.
I just was asking an open question for a mod to answer.
Green texters don’t count.

I’ve had a lot of super slow notifications among with other strange interactions when posting the past few days.

I’ve tried liking a few posts and gotten a ‘That action is busy’ pop up.

AKA mods are made infallible…

Oh I see this got moved to CS.

Moving this over so I can answer it.

Generally speaking, even if a thread is removed there are still reports within that thread that need to be addressed.

Mods will go through those posts and usually just delete them as they address the reports, unless the content of the reported post warrants a penalty, then that will be applied accordingly.

Thank you for the insight

I’m still getting notifications for people replying to and liking my posts from 2 hours ago, so yeah there is a glitch with the notifications not coming up until much later.

Thank you for the reply.
But my question was, that if the thread no longer exists, why the moderation?
Wouldn’t the removal of the thread be the moderation?

As I said, the reason for the moderation is:

The removal of the thread addresses the first post that created the thread. It doesn’t address any potential violations that may have existed within the thread. Those still need to be addressed.

It is possible one of the posts in the thread violated the rules if not more then one post. Sometimes the mods will remove one or two or sometimes remove the entire thing if needed depending on the subject.

I just got a notification for this thread of a reply that happened 2 hours ago too.

I noticed the notifications for here can be a tad bit slow.

Tell me about it. I received notification that someone posted in this thread from before I moved the thread after I moved it. So it’s a bit weird all around.

But… there was only the OP that was being reported…
So again, if the thread was removed, that would be an action against the OP, would it not?
Also, the OP was already deemed to have not violated anything and was restored, ( then was reported again  )
It doesn’t matter to me if the thread get is removed, since I just wanted an answer. I got an answer ( I appreciate ) so I have no further need of it.
