Just trying to encourage a more positive and fulfilling environment…
That and looking out for the people I like.
Well bit the bullet and got a new laptop. After realizing this could be written off as a buisness expense I actually treated myself to a gaming laptop.
So I’m probably first going to play through BG3 again without the frame rate chugging through most of Act 3. But beyond that I’m excited for Seeds of Renewal.
Wondering where to pick up though. Figure it might be easier to finish up one of countless alts, get them to 70 with max honor so I can get the current PvP set, and start up with wherever the story is now so I don’t have to try to navigate outdated content.
I haven’t been engaging in a lot of threads recently, mostly due to investing much of my time away from the forums along with being disinterested in AvH garbage. I recently skimmed through that Beyond Battle Lines topic though. Does anyone else find that thread suspicious? The OP seems very unaware of player sentiments and the tone is far too jovial to be natural. I can’t shake the feeling it’s either an out of touch Blizzard dev or a regular doing some elaborate trolling.
Yeah it smelled fishy from the get go, to me. Felt like either:
someone invested in the current Development Team… but not as a fan. Like a paid social media intern.
Or
A forum regular trying to troll.
“Oh my goodness, is Jaina controversial? Did bringing her up stir up the Faction debate? Oh my stars and garters!”
Yeah…
Reading that person’s posts more closely makes me think that it’s this. What Horde fan says their Horde character resonates with Anduin and Jaina? Why those characters? There’s also been some stuff that’s been referred to that hasn’t been shown yet. Stuff about “neutral cities”, which I doubt is Bel’ameth and Gilneas.
I have a theory…
That it’s a demon!! A dancing demon, no, something isn’t right there…
I’ve got a theory, some kid is dreaming, and we’re all stuck inside his whacky Broadway nightmare!!
I’ve got a theory we should work this out,
It’s getting eerie, what’s this cheery singing all about?
…
Wait, this isn’t Buffy.
Anyways, I’ve got a theory, but I’m’a let things play out. I’m sure someone else can think of a recently mysteriously quiet forum regular with a perchant for alt-swapping to try and get a fresh start.
Really, we are starting down this path already?
I think I need a break from this already and it’s barely even started again…
I was gonna say, it reminded me of a particular regular who Alt swapps often - and backs themselves up on Alts. Mostly because of how defensive that OP got with the slightest disagreement. And the multiple edits - 9 edits in one post.
I have seen that defensiveness and lashing out and multiple edits from a Forum Troll who likes to nest here.
Nah, honestly, even if my suspicions are right? It’s largely irrelevant. If it sticks to story content, that’s all I care about.
And frankly, I know I could be very wrong, so I’d rather just treat the poster as a stranger new to this forum section.
It’s more the vibe I caught and sharing it since the topic came up. I’m not gonna hunt to out the person either way.
I thought that for a moment, but the writing style is too well crafted to be that. She’d have lost her patience a long time ago, and have given herself away by rambling about her favorite topics. There’s no long winded lore speculation. I think it’s an established author that doesn’t like getting negative feedback and was expecting the same positive reinforcement she gets from Twitter.
Yuh, it could very well just be a new person (new people do allegedly make their way here) who coincidentally came during a quiet period. The alt-use has been very upfront and honest, and while there have been some testy moments… I mean, most of us have those. I absolutely have those in abundance.
In the end, it’s not too relevant. If things continue how they currently are, then that’s brilliant either way. It’s one thread, it’s not anywhere near as bad or condescending or any of the other crap.
Eh. I’m unworried.
Steve, if you’re on here I’d like to hear from you. How is life at Blizzard? I guess I don’t know if you work for them. I have a cousin who works in the business at Microsoft. He says the pay is good and the hours are decent.
How odd for someone who seems to have such hate for those who jump toons, this one looks an aweful lot like another.
Sure, Alynsa sure.
Guess this is how it’ll be.
Wut?
Do… Do you think this Lookingforsteve is me?
Seems to be the implication
Not her.
edit:
I’m taking a break.
I’m tired of feeling like this place was starting to get better only to watch as a particular group of people keep dragging it back down.
Huh.
I mean, a cursory investigation shows how unlikely that is. That alt’s honor level is 2, mine it 33, both are Horde so there should be no discrepency there.
The achievements not only don’t match up, but we each have some the other is missing. I have 10k world quests, they don’t even have 2.5k. They have the Dark Iron heritage, I do not. Under legacy achieves, I got Shadowlands Epic a full four months before they did. My first level 120 character dinged a full two months after their’s did. And like… There’s a whole lot more.
But… Cool.
Sure.
We’re the same person.
I’m freaking done.
