Store transmog and why It's a problem

It gives me a chance to brush up on my debating and researching skills. Learned quite a bit about previous things I never knew before. Like Raid Tiers apparently not being in-game items according to Lead Game Dev Kaeleesi

I’m aware, this thread is all about my opinion.

Yeah, let’s ignore you trying to be inflammatory and accusing me of saying that raid tiers are being taken out because of transmog items being in the cash shop because I literally never said that and if you actually read the OP have a point where I say transmogs in the cash shop WON’T do that…but I understand that you and most of the people arguing with me right now didn’t actually read the post…they just saw “store item is an issue” and started getting mad.

Hence why people keep reporting the post and it keeps staying up…

I believe this game is a lot cheaper to run than when it started. And by run I mean on computers. Technology has advanced so much, running a server is likely much cheaper, etc So I think it is likely about the same as when it started if not slightly cheaper.

You saying so doesn’t make it proof…

Yeah, trying to make it look neater and more to the point and taking out pointless things I had originally added.

Yes, people are saying the same thing to me trying to change my opinion and I keep telling them “This is my opinion, I’m not wrong…trying to ‘prove me wrong’ won’t work because it’s literally my opinion”

This has to be the most overused terrible response I keep seeing over and over… “WoW isn’t as bad as other games” so we’re just supposed to slowly let it get to where it’s as bad or worse than other games before we can speak up…?

Snarkyness aside, I truly don’t comprehend what this kind of comment is supposed to mean.

Raid tiers are items? I don’t think so, they’re raids…they DROP items, is that what you’re getting confused about?

You can buy it with in game gold, actually. Through selling tokens, bought with gold, and then adding it to your Blizzard balance.

Or, buy the six months of game time and get it that way. It’s not difficult.

That’s only 1 aspect though.

Salaries have gone up, and more people work on it (or so we’ve been told).

Building overhead goes up.

Etc etc

Agree or disagree, Op is taking on everyone beautifully . Masses come and go with their spanking. Good on you OP

You are free to keep voicing your opinion against it of course.

It’s hard to be on board with a slippery slope argument though when it’s been going on for almost 10 years.

Must be a really flat slope.

Which is why I say it’s probably not much more expensive. I understand that there is overhead, but we also have read how poorly they treat and pay their employees. Salaries go up, but you have fewer employees due to layoffs and them closing an entire office.

Yeah, people calling me names and trolling me is harassment, I agree.

Yup. People called me stupid, said my opinion was stupid, called me all sorts of names…but apparently defending yourself from harassment is harassment…

This transmog is ugly as hell! I don’t have a problem with them adding it to the cash shop. I have a problem with them putting more effort into it than they do with tier sets and items you can just get by doing quest.

Blizzard where is the micro transaction to fix all the past armor that has bugs/clipping graphics? I’ll pay you 20 bucks to fix all that.

We’ll probably have to agree to disagree there.

Eh, there are too many assumptions here to base anything on.

Apparently the layoffs were mostly support (non-dev) roles which are typically lower paying.

And not all work on WoW.

I’m 99.99% sure their average developer, coder, and engineers salary have gone up “a bit” in 16 years.

I would honestly rather they just increase the sub price - no joke! If you are that broke that you can’t fix the game? Just increase the sub price. None of their fans should have an issue with this.

The funny thing is that after continuing to not listen/failing to refute any argument with anything other than his baseless opinion, he thinks anyone’s still reading those incredibly long multi-quote posts.

I salute the effort, though.

I would be down for that too.

Cute, but I did read your unnecessarily long essay of a post as well as most of your massive replies. However, you keep repeating a point:

At first it was an opinion because it was “I think it’s point X” which was cool, that’s your prerogative. But then you started arguing it as if it was a provable fact or, more suitably, an informed opinion.
However you have yet to actually provide any evidence of this.

A fair pair of rebuttals, I do not have proof of this and did not word it as an opinion. I also did not include the word ‘sets’ on the end of raid tiers, I made an assumption that context clues were enough to discern that we’re talking about items and I was wrong. I’ll clarify in future

There is no proof of this in WoW. For over a decade it has been purely cosmetic.

And factual evidence that some was removed to keep the shop small. And purely cosmetic.

No. You started this behavior. I even quoted all of your harassment and bullying before anyone said anything angry to you.

Your assumptions don’t make anything fact. And that is what you keep pushing to try to force your opinion.

You have been mean to every person who does not agree with you.

No. That’s you. Every time someone says something opposite, you get mean and nasty.

You should give your grandmother your phone to read these posts so that she can tell you how horrible you are being towards others.

Yes exactly. I feel sorry for her real life friends.

Yup, salaries have gone up. 2019 they made MORE money than they had projected and still fired over 800 employees.

That’s how capitalism and cooperate greed work, yup.

Nope, I do read. almost over half of what people are arguing with me about literally has NOTHING to do with what the post is about.

This is literally me saying “I don’t want transmog in the shop” and people saying “but you can get everything in the game for free!” like, nothing to do at all with my points.

I bet you say that about people who are out telling people to vote, huh? “Oh you’re just crying because X candidate is going to win, you’re so sad”

Thank you, I like to believe this myself honestly. Especially when someone literally said “Show me an example of what you’re talking about” I showed them an example and they literally said “That’s not good enough, it doesn’t back up your argument”

So I showed them literally 5 examples and they said “Oh so ONLY 5 things?”

Like, you can’t keep moving the goalposts of what you want me to do just because I prove you wrong time and time again…

Oh heck, I’ll just pull it up because it makes me laugh so hard.

Closing an entire office isn’t just saving money on pay - it’s saving money on the building they worked in, their benefits, etc. But, I guess your assumptions are the only good ones. Later!
