This is not rhetorical… I’d like a response please.
Just because you say no doesn’t make it correct.
I paid 70 dollars three months ago with no expectation of getting this item.
It was free.
Then how come everyone doesn’t have it?
Because not everyone previously purchased or newly purchased 6 months of time?
all asian games sell stuff in the store now.
I have no idea, paying in 6 month blocks is a bargain. Ppl listen up…save some money
Pay for 6 months
Dew it!
I might have to now if this debate happens every 6 months. That way I can really be in on it.
I’d ask Senator Sanders.
Anyways, aren’t they already making a mount for us, for free, based on some democratic vote.
And get free stuff!
That isn’t free.
Blizzard needs to go back and update old models. Runescape did so, a multi billion dollar company can. All these old scuffed models could be brought back to life with an overhaul and would vastly improve engagement. It could also be ported over to classic as a selectable choice when people get over the ‘no changes’.
Even though I get this through 6 month sub. I do not agree with it existing. As many people stated, we are charged in too many directions. We have to buy expansions, pay for subscription and if we want access to store items we have to pay. Yes, you can use the WoW Token (something I actually support) - but someone still has to pay for it. So it is not ‘free’. The same issue exists for things such as race changes or faction changes. Charging $20-50 for a simple database entry? I would rather buy another game.
Select two forms of monetization. Ideally one. Of course, it is based around what people are willing to pay and many people WILL pay.
It’s not free because we have to have an active sub to get it.
Am I doing it right?
This isn’t unusual at all.
Ever seen pledge week on PBS?
Give money get a gift. Shop works similarly. Give Blizz money get a cool item.
Blizzcon stuff isn’t from playing the game. You disagree with swag bags too?
it is for some people, others it is not. I personally only play about 2-3 months at a time so paying for 6 months would be a waste.
Yes who knows, you might be surprised down the line when poof something shows up in your wardrobe you knew nothing about before renewing your sub
It boggles the mind
But mostly it saves money
And here’s how paying for services works:
$70 sub + $20 mog = $90
vs
$70 sub + $0 mog = $70
In other words, the mog is free as long as you have a sub.
Meh. A little bit more to the left… there ya go… now ya got it.
That’s about the only thing that’s not debatable. The rest of the stuff I could care less about. If it wasn’t better looking or unique it wouldn’t be in the bloody store to begin with (or part of the subscription incentive).
I think it’s absolutely silly not to assume that the only reason is going up in the store is to limit the fallout of those who will find the game unsatisfactory in the beginning.
I’m not against it or for it. However, i do believe that people who will end up buying it, are people who wouldn’t temporarily quit wow because of being unhappy.
So I think it should just be given to people who in the last few expansions have stayed the first year or something. I know I wouldn’t get Jack because I have dropped every expansion in the first few months since cata. I always come back at the tail end of stuff and I’m a much bloody happier person for it.
I play WoW and I didn’t get it for free, how come?
They’ve always been like that though.
If you play WoW non-stop for 6 months it is. Some people are dissatisfied with the content and take breaks. It’s nice to not waste money and be able to do that.
Haven’t heard about that, but if they do…kinda weird. A lot weirder than the bike mounts…that was so neat.
They did for pretty much everything except armor, is that what you’re talking about?
I agree, old armor models are so pixelated and look terrible…yet some are still really cool.
Careful, people will harass you for sharing that kind of opinion around here.
Exactly. It made sense back in the day when it was introduced because it had to manually be done and someone had to be paid to overlook the process.
100% agree and what this thread is all about. Unfortunately they’re going to just go full on greedy and get as much money out of the fanbase as they can, fire as many employees as they can, and do whatever they want.
I’m just glad the original creators of Blizzard made their own company, I’m excited to see what they make in the future.
They should settle with one type of item then. Everyone slowly said “fine” with mounts. Then they addeded pets, then toys, now armor…It’s just too much for a sub game that charges for expansions too.
I view that similarly to expansion releases. It would be nice to get them in game, but it’s once a year and It’s only ever been a single pet or mount.
Weird that you do that, yet fail to see how It’s not free.
So pay $70 and you get a mog, got it.
