Thanks for the link but the MAUs don’t really give that much information. I mean we were coming off an expansion that many people did not like Draenor and Legion was just released at the start of Q4 so it had a lot of new expansion hype. Maybe if we knew what the MAU’s where for the full life of Legion and currently in BFA would be helpful to make a more educated guess.
Then what the hell is the point of the WQs in the first place? You’re literally saying to blizzard they’re pointless filler(which they are, just like the AP grind) content that doesn’t even belong in the game. I’d love to see WQs and AP obliterated from the game.
However in the grand scheme of things that said “content” might be what is the only thing some people, maybe even the majority considering how hard they’re pushing WQs.
It also boils down to what we consider “challenging” content. For some people challenging content might be the calligraphy WQ. At the end of the day it’s a mmo, it’s made for the masses. If people like having gear thrown at them for just PLAYING THE GAME, who am I to argue that. Whatever floats their boat. It doesn’t affect me even the slightest if Bob gets a +30 titan proc from a WQ. Good for him. It’s like being angry at someone winning big on the lottery.
lmao!
shut up pvp guy!
amirite GD
everyone should have equal gear who likes sweaty pee vee pee minigame players anyway!
Being able to catch up after a break is fantastic - it really shouldn’t be as good as it is, however.
I shouldn’t get back into the content I want to be in and think “Huh, this is a downgrade from my WQ loot”.
And no, I’m not talking hardcore super high level mythic stuff.
^ Truth. Only content I care about is timewalking anyway, where i get to use my old gear, with gems, enchants, etc… and kids in their azerite gear are …“how are you doing so much?” Maybe if y’all did some research and have some fun, timewalking can be fun for you and not a slow drag fest. Most just bich about timewalking, but never really figure out how to do better or care to do better.
WoW is getting to be, if not already, loaded with snowflakes who feel their HS diploma should be equal to that of someone with an associates degree.
The ilvls of this expac has yet again, blown out of proportion and another level / item level crush is inevitable.
So done, God help them if they screw up Classic or the 15th anniversary event. They already screwed that up by selling out of something they should’ve known would be a hot seller…and then redirecting us to outside retailers.
So out of touch.
Toxic environment gaming on the internet started even before Counter strike, however…counter strike increased that type of behavior exponentially.
I get where you are going with on this, but many believe the first 2 years od college basically level out everyone entering it.
I had a great high school education. Hadnt taken a class in 25 years and took my entrance exam into college. Passed with flying colors. My Associates degree was pretty much just show with no new information added. I ended with a 3.875 because working full time, going to school fullt time and being a full time single parent was not the easiest - especially when I was fitting WoW time in during Classic.
So yeah, my high HS diploma was just as good as my associates degree.
We are now over 1900 replies to a thread which started as clickbait and has since devolved into a shouting match/constant nonconstructive arguments…
Maybe the rumors are true…Blizzard has lost so much money from the disaster at BlizzCon 2018 that they can’t afford a proper forum moderation team for ANY of its various forums.
I still don’t understand why people are complaining… I honestly feel that those who are speaking on this, are probably not struggling to gear up or get into groups… Sorry, but I have spent a whole day trying to get into a group. I don’t want to waste time trying to complete this, I have a life, I have people I take care of and the amount a bull crap I go through to be in these group is absolute not worth it. So people can cry me a river. In addition, I know others who dislike raiding and mythic+ already. I think we all should see what is the end result instead of just making assumptions.
Simple solution:
Don’t make 38,629 different potential pieces.
PvP Vendor: Season X Warrior, Mage, Hunter, etc, full sets.
World Vendors: Updated per patch full class sets with bonuses clearly aimed at World Content.
Instance Vendors: Replacement for Valor Gear fill in the slot RNG protection with middle of the pack stat selections.
All of which function with the drop down box to sort by class and spec. No wrong choices possible.
Those dang pvp guys.
To be honest, since I don’t have time to raid I am finding PvP a delightful alternative. Granted I play a Dk but…hey…lits something
Ehhh, PvE gear honestly dominates in PvP atm, not great for PvPers.
To me, it’s not that one has the gear, but what one does with it.
The Riddle Of Loot, young Conan, is that gear can go obsolete and tiers will end, but the WILL to complete content you find meaningful is indomitable.
I’ve never raided for gear, I raid because I enjoyed raiding. If it weren’t for the obvious performance gains and helping my guild I’d pass on gear.
Couple of other things, people assume they are the only one’s playing, but in reality there is a giant fan base based and several type of players playing, and working on different goals in the game, What a Hardcore Raider wants, or Hardcore PVPer wants, or what Casual player wants, or a person who plays the game because they RP or love the lore want. In the end we all chose to play for our own reasons and we all pay the same subscription fee.
So you should have systems in place so that all these type of players can get to the same satisfaction/gear but with different paths to the prize, Because in the end two things will happen, 1. They keep their subscription and keep playing, 2. They feel alienated and quit paying their subscription and quit playing. Member only clubs in a such diverse game can only be tolerated for only so long.
No… how about reward players for playing a game they enjoy
I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again. Not everyone has “L337 SKILLZ” and can do the harder content. They should still get gear that is not worthless, and can be an upgrade to what they have. This could help them do harder content and be successful; or not? In either situation they are not competing with you for ANYTHING. In addition, no piece of gear devalues what you have to have done. Completing the hardcore content IS the reward there. Achievements are your precious “bragging rights” if that’s what you’re looking for, not gear.
And we’re seeing the result of this mentality with this expansion. Why try when there’s all this trivial content that has the possibility to give you the same if not a better reward?
But what are you trying for? If just “getting better gear than the unworthy” is what you’re after, then do the “trivial” content and boast to your heart’s content. If you’re playing to overcome challenging content for the satisfaction of that, you’ll still get good gear too. Win-win…
I mean this is the crux of the situation though… Some players play to acquire the best gear, others play for the challenge, in reality there is a bit of both in all players. The players who prioritize playing for the challenge (like me), still play. The players who prioritize playing for gear, have stopped playing.
I get the moral stance of expecting players to only require the challenge as a reward… but the reality is… that’s just not how it is. As such, we’ve lost pretty much every player who prioritized the former.
Finally… If we’re really going to take that moral high road… That can be applied in reverse. Why do players who have zero interest in doing challenging content feel they need this high level gear? Surely they have their content and it in itself is a reward no? Why is it morally appropriate that they clamor to acquire non-worthless gear (in your eyes), while morally abhorrent that players seeking challenge ask for gear that sets them apart?
Either the gear matters or it doesn’t… Choose.
