I feel you just want to bury the lead and try to lead me into a conclusion that won’t make any sense.
Do I feel I achieve something by getting a cutting edge sure. Do I feel tho that’s it worth the hassle when the main reward “gear” is so badly designed this expansion? no. There’s just too much terrible things that happened to it. Removal of master loot, removal of tier sets, adding titanforging. Add to that most classes are boring/pruned, there’s just no way I can enjoy raiding anymore or playing this game.

Oh really? I never said cutting edge ,just in general. So you finished the challenge but are unsatisfied by what others would like to achieve given their time.
Are you confused about the content that’s coming in 8.2? There’s a plethora of gear available to people who don’t do organized group content that scales up to 430, which is heroic raid gear. Benthic gear is upgradable to 430, heroic warfronts are 430, weekly mythic dungeon quest is 430. Not even sure if that’s all the heroic options for casuals to enjoy and that doesn’t count forging. So, uh, he’s going to enjoy the content he does wearing heroic gear in most spots by the end of the tier, exactly like we have right now. And you’re going to be salty and completely powerless to do anything about it. Exactly like right now too.

Not until we bring back resilience, or implement templates for WPvP. Raiders in warmode shouldn’t be steamrolling non-raiders just because they are raiders.

They’re free to get gear that let them have their way with current content. Nobody stops them except themselves.
Why should they catchup to heroic level?
You certainly don’t need a full set of heroic gear to enter LFR or M+ or pvp.
Do I feel there’s too much gear reward in the game right now that don’t make much sense? yes.
Do I feel that there’s should be way to progress gear at a casual level yes.
Should that require some amount of group content and/or difficulty yes.
Lot of content should help casuals gear themselves, not only wqs/warfront/world boss that are terribly “braindead” to use the expression.
-Daily heroics could have badges, for some pieces up to normal/heroic level
-Pvp could add honor/conquest vendors again, that would incentivize random bgs or skirmish for some pieces up to normal/heroic level
-Crafting could become more relevant, and offer some pieces at normal/heroic level (without going into mythic difficulties*). Make people farm mats, tons of them.
-Scenarios like mage tower or chromie could offer some reward too either currency or weekly lockout.
As long as no full set is possible to get, and that it feels more like a progression system. For me it would be better for them and would make it look less like blizzard is just giving handouts for gear.
There is so much that casual could do than just playing basicly phone game content. And it’s a shame for me that’s all they care/get.
No templates
WoTLK gearing system with resilience.
Or WoD’s system.

Yet,why the fuss over it? It’s their play style they are not “crying” about it they are too busy achieving a goal. Those that are are the ones.

Accessibility depends on the player, only you can restrict yourself from content. You can make a group or apply yourself to be acceptable to a guild to raid, do mythic plus runs, rated bgs or arena.
I wonder why they don’t look back at their more successful projects and thing “gee, we really hit the nail on the head there.”

“Why care?” Because I do care that this game is just getting worse, and I want the game to better, I want to like playing it again. Not caring would be not going on the forums trying to give feedback and just playing another game or living in a rainbow world as unicorns (yes some people enjoy that).
The answer is self evident. Because they don’t consider resilience a success. They consider it a problem that gear can’t be used across all content. I don’t remember which Q&A but I remember Ion saying that explicitly. If you earn the gear you earn the gear, it shouldn’t not work elsewhere because it’s different content, according to him. And I don’t disagree with that assessment personally but I’m not someone who does enough pvp for it to matter. I participate in warmode to knock out my AOO when it’s up but that’s about it.
yeah I remember the quote. Frustrating.
Because they are the type of player the game is designed around now. Players who don’t like MMOs and character progression and yet blizzard has catered to them for the past few years.
We see the resulting dumpster fires.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sympathetic to people who do arena and rated bg’s and have to deal with garbage like everyone using Bwonsamdi’s Bargain trinkets. Or having to farm up specific Azerite pieces from M+/Raids because they’re the best in PvP. That seems stupid to me. But I like folks who do pvp being able to hop into equivalent pve content and do okay and vice versa. I also like that the disparity from top to bottom isn’t huge right now so it’s less about gear and more about skill. The bigger issue is that class balance is a joke atm, it’s a far bigger problem than power progression ever could be.

Having read the thread, and being a casual player myself, I have the following to say:
-
There should absolutely be a PvP vendor
-
No, I don’t need Heroic raiding gear to be rewarded by WQs. I’m glad they are, it gives me something to do, but I wholly agree I don’t need it.
I suspect Blizzard is doing this is, since we don’t have any sort of alternate advancement system presently, throwing high level gear at us is much easier than crafting interesting content for me to do at my skill level (ie Class Order Hall type quests with unique transmogs/mounts I can collect for doing those).

Understandable,I too but with a broader stork, I would like the game be liked by all and not separated by a single path for gear.We all work for it in different ways for different reasons ,not one is worse or wrong.
Some wouldn’t make it to the finial endgame but they can try to be ready for the next up coming. So this gear people are "crying " about is not endgame it’s beginners game .We will all of us start anew in 8.2.

Retail is gonna be the participation trophy crowd in the future and classic will be where true mmo players will be at.

Raiding will always have higher ilvl, dungeons will always have lower ilvl than raiding, world quests will have same ilvl as dungeons if you doing normal mythic, but will not have same ilvl as doing +2 and up ( unless you get lucky with WF,TF) thats about it, i think they trying to balance the gear system but feels like they messing it up lately
I agree with this 5,000,000 percent. I can’t overstate how important class design is. And how the lack of it is the true problem.

My personal hope is that Classic ends ip being more successful than BfA and they implement some older successful methods into live.
I’m not even hyped for Classic either, I’ve already been there done that I’d rather have new content but at least Classic will still feel like an MMO.
