There’s no irony in my statement. I didn’t say I was more entitled to anything than you or anyone else.
I don’t even like PvP, so that question is irrelevant to me. I could do without a Gladiator mount, and if Blizzard wants to make that mount exclusively available to PvPers, then I’m fine with that, knowing that if I truly desired a Gladiator mount, I would have to do PvP to get it.
However, if Blizzard decided that the Gladiator mount would be available to PvPers and non-PvPers, alike, then I’d be fine with that decision, too, because I’m just one of those subscribers who isn’t a fanatic for new mounts (like other players). And that’s my point. The quality of rewards is relative to the player and how that player chooses to enjoy the game.
Dude when you’re advocating getting high end loot for logging in the last thing you should be calling people is special snowflakes. The irony is thick.
No one begged Blizzard to give them heroic raider ilvl gear to do WQ’s. Literally, no one.
You’re at 2K forums posts, so I’m guessing you’ve been around these forums before their current inception. If this is the case, then you know absolutely no one asked Blizzard to do this.
Quit blaming people for things that weren’t asked for around here.
Yeah but… you just said I was narcissistic for wanting exclusive gear but then you said you enjoyed mage tower. Is the mage tower skin not a way of saying “you’re so much better”? Is it not exclusive?
Either way, I agree with you 100% you’re preaching to the choir when it comes to cosmetics. Blizzard has been extremely lazy when it comes to class sets/pvp sets/weapons/mounts etc this expansion and I think the lack of these is why folks like me feel cheated when they do this ilevel increase. There’s no carrot anymore, or it devalues it to say the least. The cosmetics are crap, who cares about an achievement, and gear is inflated to all heck. So what is there to chase at this point? 10 ilevel? That’s hardly a difference.
If Blizzard focused more on bringing back awesome cosmetics, mounts etc I wouldn’t be nearly as annoyed as I am with their changes to WQs gear.
So current gladiator works like this:
Gladiator: Win 50 games over 2400 in an arena season.
What I’m asking is, do you believe that doing possibly thousands of regular battlegrounds should reward the same as someone who plays maybe 150-200 games in a span of 3-4 months of high rated arena pvp?
Do you believe the person doing thousands of battlegrounds in a year, solely because the time spent, should get the gladiator mount as the gent who did for doing higher rated PvP in 1/4th the time? Eliminating the difficulty requirement?
Disregarding the garbage that are armor sets this expansion, mythic raiders get cosmetic gear that other people don’t get. In fact, people go back sometimes expansions later to collect that gear. Restricting it to seasonal exclusive cosmetics is something I’m opposed to. I know plenty of people who go back and farm transmog from previous expansions. Making those rewards seasonally exclusive removes a ton of content from people who are into that stuff.
No, but those are rewards that were introduced as cosmetic and time limited. They aren’t things that weren’t that way that were then made exclusive. I personally didn’t do challenge modes because, to be honest, I don’t care about transmog. I’ll do that kinda stuff or help with it if a friend needs assistance or wants company while doing it.
I’m not sure what to tell you, the carrot is different now and that’s intentional. If the ilvl isn’t enough to justify you doing the content, then the point of the change is that you shouldn’t be doing it. They don’t want you doing content simply because of the gear rewards. They want you doing them because you enjoy the content. But according to them, if you do mythic you’re on average higher ilvl than someone who does heroic, and so on down the line. It’s just not 45 ilvls of difference from top to bottom anymore. And that’s a good thing in my book.
Agreed, Blizzard being lazy is a much bigger problem than upgradable gear.
I’m not sure how that works. My account is 14 years old and I have thousands of post I have written through the years yet mine is only showing 41 post.
Except that’s not what I’m advocating for. That’s the strawman that you’re dumbing my position down to to argue with because you can’t hack actually debating my position.
Yes. Both players are subscribers who are getting their money’s worth out of the game, one of which has paid $15/month to gain a mount by playing a year’s worth of BGs, while the other one has paid $15/month to gain a mount by playing more difficult arenas.
Maybe the former player doesn’t like arenas, while the latter player doesn’t enjoy BGs. Why should one’s preference of gaining a reward be the standard of what another’s means of earning a reward ought to be?
Actually, that’s also not my position. I mean, I can spell it out for you if you have a problem reading through the many posts I’ve made in this (and other) threads already. Or you can try to guess again and throw out insults as if they matter at all. Your prerogative.
No one on the old forums came and begged Bliz for high end gear from just doing World Quests. There was some asking for better casual content (how we ended up with Mythic dungeons), but nothing more casual than that.
I don’t even recall people asking for anywhere near the ilvl’s that Bliz is giving out for that content.
Literally no one asked Blizzard for high end gear from WQ’s.
However: with the way RNG currently works, even if I did still raid, I probably wouldn’t get a piece of gear because I have almost 0 RNG luck in this game. At least I have a way to obtained filler pieces without the RNG.
I’d hate being a raider right now with the current RNG system.
Be glad these kinds of things exist. Even if they are geared toward casuals.
